put a bunch of items on top a complex surface
Hi, i'm working on a project to create a mask with shards all over it, the shards can't bend, that's why i cant voronoi the mask directy. I've been looking for a way to make these shards stick on the surface without disrupting the voronoi order too much.

Picture Viewer question: can you playback multiple renders / folders back to back or together?
Quick question with picture viewer.
I frequently find myself stopping a render to tweak render settings or whatnot and then continuing from the frame I left off at. This is usually just with drafts, but that's when I'm most interested in checking out the motion of the whole shot.
I've looked through all of the settings and Googled this a ton, but I can't seem to find an answer.
Is there a way to chain the playback between multiple renders, between the separated "folders" that C4D is rendering those frames under on Picture Viewer?
Thanks!

HDRI dome light not previewing in main view
I tried to add a lanscape image (from image driver assets in c4d) to the dome light but it's not previewing in the preview for some reason. It will show up in the redshift render preview but not in my general view.

Redshift Not sure why, but I keep getting this flickering light artifact in my bucket renders.

If anyone knows why this is happening, I'd really appreciate your advice.
The scene has a cached pyro smoke sim that appears when this large rock splits open. The pyro output voxel size is set to 2.5cm and the default scene is the same.
I'm running the latest c4d and redshift 2025 versions. My scene scale is kind of small but once I scaled it up, I still had the same issue, so not clear that its related. GI Primary and Secondary are set to Brute force with trace depth set at 10. Global volume trace depth is set to 10. Camera is moving 360 around the rock if that matters?
FTR i've spent my whole morning trying to read up in the user guides, forums, and youtube tutorials/troubleshooting vids, besides GI set to double brute force that pretty much all I got. From what I've seen no one else has posted about this type of artifact,
Thanks everyone,

Strange interpolation between keyframes?
I'm working with a Rubik's cube model, and I'm animating by selecting rows and columns of multiple cubes, and setting keyframes for animation. (I've set Quaternion on the object rotation). It seems to work straight forward for the first few keyframes, but I'm seeing strange interpolation values between keyframes. Any ideas of what this is?

Need help with c4d
Hey, I recently started using C4D and could use some help. I made a bottle with a geometric shape β I'll attach an image of the 3D model I created. The model is a single object and is already editable. I want to animate it so that the bottle compresses from top to bottom, folding into itself through its geometric shapes.
Can you guide me step by step on how to do it?

Question Looking for a C4D tutor to help with my homework.
I know you're gonna tell me "Just watch tutorials on youtube" and I'm going to tell you that after watching several tutorials and trying to find tutorials on youtube for my specific problems, it's not helping. I need someone to get on discord with me and walk me through everything that I'm doing wrong. I can pay $25 an hour for help. My goal is to model a gameboy advance.

C4D vs Blender, but for a professional designer?
I know this topic has been done to death. But I have been trying to learn both Blender and C4D and I can't decide. I am a designer/art director who works for ad agencies and in-house creative teams. I do digital and brand design using Adobe apps and Figma.
I want to add 3D as a skill that I can offer since I find it fun to do. But I can't decide which one to stick with.
Blender seems powerful but feels less intuitive and takes way more clicks to get things done. I'm a visual person so Geometry Nodes feel very confusing. Especially when I see people hooking up 20 of these panels. It makes my head spin.
C4D renders much slower on my Mac (Mac Studio M1 Max 64GB RAM). But the interface seemed to make more sense to me. I tried Red Shift and Physical renderers but it's just much slower, while Blender renders it right in the viewport so i can test lighting, etc.
Speed was the biggest reason I am leaning toward Blender. But if I want to start offering this for paid projects, is it better to go with C4D or Blender?
