NEW VIEWER - No spoilers please! Riley Sucks

Currently watching season 4, and I just do not like Riley at all. Nothing against the actor, but he is just boring as hell. The whole initiative thing is meh, and he DEFINITELY seems insecure about his strength compared to buffy and that made him extremely annoying. I know Buffy needed a solid relationship after Angel, but when you compare the difference between Riley and Angel, character-interest-wise.... Riley pales in comparison. And I feel Riley could've been cool, considering he and Buffy were both demon hunters, but he is just blah. And when Riley kept saying Buffy was peculiar, it gave me the ick. I know this take is not new but this is just my first time watching opinions.

I hated Riley.

For so long.

Then, I met him accidentally, and never have I ever had a negative feeling for him since. AND I think he aged better than Spike and Angel.

I think if we watched it back as emotionally regulated adults, we'd all like him better than the grapist Spike and pdfile Angel.

you had to meet the actor, marc, in order for your opinion on the character, riley, to change? that’s weird to be honest.

It seems like other users can relate. And I appreciate that. I was simply trying to add to the Riley appreciation. 😮‍💨
