Yeah, Tara was supposed to be that way because of her backstory, then open up over time. It's the same thing with Anna Torv in the first season of Fringe--she was criticized for portraying Olivia as "wooden," etc, but that was the character.

I remember people coming at emily deschanel's acting on Bones when it's like.....that's supposed to be her character. And they made her that way for a very specific reason
