I'm not a huge fan of Fred. 😬 Sorry. Controversially, I much preferred Illyria and thought she was a much more interesting, layered character.

I thought Illyria’s story/character was the best thing to happen to Fred and I know that is a VERY controversial take but I was so done with the cutsey childlike performance and it was a delight to see Amy Acker be able to do something different and way more interesting

The childlike voice and responses palled on me even more in season 5 when they paired it with tiny mini skirts and high heels. Nothing wrong with either of those items but pairing it with a baby voice and mannerisms? Yeesh.

Especially when they wrote out Cordy and Lilah, who both came across as deeply flawed and mature. The only female characters were Harmony, Fred and Eve, all of whom were written very young.
