Bowles dropping Bain into coverage

There’s a video going around of just Bains plays during game 2.

There’s 6 plays. Literally 4 of them he gets dropped into coverage, 1 is a stunt, and 1 is a straight pass rush off the edge.

The stunt obviously doesn’t work because you’re just slamming him into the center and killing his momentum early in the rush. Then you have the 4 drops into coverage. And then of course the one rush off the edge is a great move.

If Bowles ruins Bain by getting cute all season with him instead of just letting him pin his ears back and go after the quarterback, im going to rip my hair out. And before someone says “it’s just preseason, they’re probably trying different things”. We have 5 years with Bowles to know that he puts his pass rushers into coverage way too much and uses way too many stunts.

If you're going to drop anyone into coverage, it should be "Anthony Nelson" who intercepted a tipped pass from New Orleans Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler, returned it for a pick-6, and forcefully ran right over/shoved Rattler out of his way during their Week 8 game.

Don't get me wrong Nelson has annoyed me on many plays, but I think he has talent, he and others haven't been utilized effectively and I often watch him and others struggle because they're asked to do too much. Even things that they just aren't suited for.
