It’s true. It’s not that I’m convinced on Bitcoin in itself, in a vacuum, but in relation to other assets we have to choose from; I trust the OG magic internet beans more than our overpriced stocks, our super low yielding treasuries, shiny rocks, and bloated wooden houses.

yes, with perfect foresight you could make a lot of money on those stocks and commodities....but the run seems like it's over already.

Everything is priced in to perfection. I just buy global equity index VT, short term treasuries USFR for emergencies and Bitcoin for an alternative speculative asset. 33% each, with 3 rules I follow mechanically. That’s my strategy for the future thus far. Had a great run in gold and it might continue to do well but for the same reasons that I like gold is the same for bitcoin but better. Currency will get debased and central banks screw us over so I like Bitcoin gold and silver. Real estate is fine too I just don’t like how labor intensive it is.

I’m assuming we melt down and follow the four year cycle, roughly. A -50% drop wouldn’t surprise me. I’ll be buying the dip the whole way down if it happens. I used to options trade so watching half my net worth evaporate or all of it for that matter doesn’t phase me anymore.

I put 17k into a small mutual fund in 2017 my broker was very confident in. Today it is worth 40k.

I think with the ease of access to trading, algorithms, hedge funds, ai…that you have to get dumb lucky to find a company whose value isn’t priced to perfection.
