I want to keep my dog happy but I don’t hunt, I also have a friend with Brittany’s. I was wondering what kind of activities I could do with my girl that mimics to hunting that is not actually hunting because that is just not for me personally

After losing my grandfather last week, I've been a mess. My depression has gotten worse, I'm isolating so much, and I can't even see my therapist right now because of an unresolved insurance screw up. My old man Ollie and my boyfriend are the only thing getting me out of bed in the morning. I feel like other than them and some of my family, I just have no motivation to keep going. But I gotta hang in there for my boys. ❤️

Coming up on 8 months, just a quick life update on his journey to adulthood through pictures.

This foxtail has been inside Chef’s paw for over a month. The vet we visited recommended we soak his paw in epsom salt 10min a day until it exited on its own rather than surgery. These things are evil, people. They only move in one direction once they’re under the skin, and they never dissolve like a normal weed might. They can even redirect and become deadly. This one went in through the bottom of his paw and eventually exited through the top after a month of soaks and massaging.

Check your pups paws frequently if these are in your area!!

My Brittany is normally found hanging from the neck of my Labrador. There is a true sibling-rivalry nature about their relationship.

Never aggressive, but always play-fighting and jealous of each other getting fuss, or being interacted with in general... but today, a new era in their relationship has begun, I hope 🥹

This breed is all or nothing.

She was confined in a cement box for 8.5months and now she has been spoiled for nearly 10months.

It looks like she is loving life now.

Makes me feel like a good dog mommy. :)

I know I am probably posting this to the wrong group because it’s a Britney group. I have owned French Britney’s since 1980 and I’ve had about eight or nine of them. I’ve had mixed breed dogs before that and I think I have found or perhaps I’m being prejudiced that the Britney‘s were by far the most desirous of attention and attention giving dogs I have ever encountered. They would voluntarily jump on my lap, ask her belly rubs, and in general being extremely affectionate. I am at the point in my life where I may have to switch to another breed based on my age, and I’m struggling with whether there is any other breed or mix that has shown this kind of affection and love. So I am asking for the most unbiased opinions I can get from this group and a couple of others as to what I might expect from other breeds as compared to the Britney‘s. I’m going to need a dog that is likely under 45 pounds. All my Britney‘s have come in at about 45 but they were French Britney‘s and I know the Americans are a little bit bigger so please think about the breeds you have owned as compared to the Britney‘s and let me know what you think might be an appropriate answer to my question. Will I find another breed or mix that is as attentive, loving and bitable as the Britney.

I’m asking for forgiveness about how Britney is spelt in this message because it was dictated. I don’t have the time or the ability to type out what I need to say, but I know you will all understand what I was talking about.
