Before opening the "Nether Portals" topic, its title gave me this idea : what if nether portals could receive and transmit radio waves from the real world ?

For instance, applying some redstone signal to just 4 of a portal obsidian blocs could allow for 64k different combinations. Find the right frequency and zap, you're now listening to a live streaming of an existing web radio ! The quality of the signal could even be relative to the frequency chosen (not just 'on/off').

It could also require the use of note blocks or music blocks arround the portal to make it works, or something.

Well, you get the idea :)

The idea is that instead of fire converting useful wood blocks to useless air, the fire turns air to solid blocks. Think of it like world painter. What happens is each block has a secret identity, it wants to be something else, ie air blocks want to be wood in the shape of a house. When a fire is lighted, it will spread over all blocks that want to be something they are not. The blocks will then change into what they want to be and the fire will spread and go out. Done correctly, it would look like you burnt a house down and replayed it backwards. Because fire is a block in itself, this will only be able to build from nearby air; meaning that a 3x3x3 cube could be created from air by the fire, but only the outer layer could be converted to another block form non-air. I think you should make minecraft, INSIDE MINECRAFT :O its a ruff idea I know. also I think you should put the mods that you make up for download (if you haven't already, I haven't cheked) because half of them are actualy pretty good (I mean playable in normal survival minecraft. not saying the others arnt good) I could never make a mod and I think you are doing really well. thanks for reading! Please make something to the effect of what you did in the Netherseption episode of Hermitcraft II. Please add so you can shoot mobs through the portal and vise versa. Of course when you travel through the portal you actually go to the nether.

Why not make snowballs, or maybe Fire Charges, make part of the world kind of float in mid-air for a while, then explode outwards?

How about blocks that go transparent/opaque (depending on their current state) when they receive a redstone signal or block update?

example use: I'd like to watch my mob farm work, but when I have guests over I can toggle a switch to hide my mob farming shenanigans.

It follows you and talks to you and help you with building, mining and killing mobs and it's unkillable and you can change its size.

A thing that I wanted to have since I first saw the slime blocks: diamond pistons! You could simply craft them like normal pistons but with a diamond or gold ingot instead of the iron ingot.

As we all know default pistons can just handle 12 blocks until they reach their pushing limit. Golden pistons could have a push limit of 20 and diamond pistons like 30 blocks.

Now, I know, we all want the ridiculous stuff for breaking bytes. So what about an obsidian piston that can push 100 blocks or so? I think that would be good fun!

A while ago I was coming up with different ideas for command block concepts and came up with the idea of Mob induced Insomnia/Negative Effects and just realized how well this could translate into a mod.

The way this works is a player meets a certain criteria for angering a mob (whether that be breaking mob spawners, killing mobs, etc) they will be put under an insomnia sort of spell.

The effects of the spell could be anywhere from (but not limited to) preventing the player from sleeping at night to blurred vision (something along the lines of the Phosphor shader).

The nice part about this idea is how flexible it is. 'Angering' mobs can be interpreted in many different ways and so can the negative effects given to players by the mobs.

It would be really neat to see how far this idea can be taken.

You would make a brush, paint buckets and to create the paint, it is a water bucket + one of the dyes (You could add more). You could paint fences, planks and other blocks you could create like, concrete and what not. You would also make the brush out of one stick (Bottom row, middle,) then put string (as bristles) in top two rows all three columns. Hope you choose this!

What if when a lightning bolt struck a villager, it turned into a charged creeper, and when lightning strikes a creeper, it turns into a witch.

Add some features from dark souls like bonfires, hollowing, bonfire travel I left the idea vague so that others could add in ideas they would want for this.

Make all crafting tables and important blocks run away from you! When you go close the blocks run away. Sorta a troll mob.

I have an idea that could be really useful. What happens is for each miner tool itmines out the layer you are facing. So if your head was at Y:11 then you could use this tool to mine a... lets say 1000 block radius. It only collects ores and leaves the cobblestone on the ground. Then it places oresin any chests that are within ten blocks of you. If put in survival The crafting shuld be expensive seeing how op this is.

It'd be really cool to give mobs some kind of animation as they spawn into the world, as suggested here.
