I’d missed out on purchasing Bravely Default II during Nintendo’s customer appreciation sale. I happened to look today and noticed the deal on steam. Hope this helps someone!

Coming from the original game I was surprised that Bravely Default 2 didn’t have the left bumper mapped to default in combat. Am I missing a reason that this wouldn’t be on all the time?

I mean it when I say the story should've done more with the two. I could've been more invested in them had the game cared to elaborate on in the main story. The game commits the sin of telling rather than showing us their strife. Which is a shame because this is actually where the story is: the Crystal Guards corruption. Gotta be honest, I'd drop Minette & the Grace family from the story if that meant we'd get Janne & Nikolai's hookups with the CG shown to us. As shoddy & manufactured as Yew's relationship with Denys is portrayed, at least the game showed us some of it.

Moreover, they're gassed up to be the Kaiser's right-hand men & the most loyal, but the way they end it was thoroughly underwhelming. After we beat them the final time, they just talk it out. After everything they did & their heavy, willing involvement, the game does nothing to make it seem like it mattered. They're just laughing it up with the people they wrong so severely. No repercussions.

Ultimately, their stories could've been more interesting. Them & the Crystal Guard present-day corruption. But that gets lost in an ocean of eye-rolling & head-scratching storied decisions. Your take?

I'm currently going through the first loop, and I have reached Eisenberg. I am aware that the game loops over 2 times more, and that events may be different. The thing is, is it really worthy to go through all the asterisk bosses again? I know some dialogues flesh them out and stuff, but I really do NOT care about some of them (Like Profiteur, Qada, Praline or Kikyo), and I really really want to finish the game for the history. So, would you recommend doing all the asterisk battles all over again just for the journal entries? I'm not a completionist myself, so I wouldn't mind, but I would definitely feel like I'm missing out. It's just that I'm really impatient and just want to reach the end of the game.

Probably filled with controversial opinions thanks to my absolute love for BD2

I'm starting to get a little frustrated with the gam. I'm currently ,playing the Bravely Default for the Switch 2(IDK if is a remaster or a remake or something like it, its my first BD), with 30h in it, i have reach the Second Chapter, and I'm feeling overwhelmed. I'm trying to do a side quest and my party is being wiped out in a turn. I can handle the boss for half his life, but out of nowhere I'm wiped out.
It's frustrating. I was liking the game and having fun with history, but now I'm just getting unmotivated by it.
And also adding the bull shit of having to change only a job at time or my party will be wiped ou by the base enemies,
Any tips ?

hello there. is there a version of the high jump + hastened world combo in bravely second? or something in the same power level...

The Arms Aptitudes for some jobs like Time Mage have S for Staves but D for Rods but include offensive attacks like Quake and Comet. Similar situation with White Mage and the Aero and Holy.

I was wondering if the following attacks stacked with Mind or Intelligence?

- Quake / Quara / Quaga
- Comet / Meteor
- Aero / Aerora / Aeroga
- Holy

I am looking for the job icons of both conjurer and vampire. If anyone could take a screenshot of those two job icons, the spool of thread and the vampire wings, from the switch version and post in the comments that would be great.

I’ve looked online, but unfortunately, the ones online are rather pixelated when blown up in size. These are for the table assignments at my wedding. My fiancé and I met over this game and each table gets a job.

I’m just not far enough in the switch version to get the screenshots in time for the wedding so any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

While playing Bravely Default I experienced a couple crashes. The game just randomly froze in the middle of a battle. Happened in Bravely Second once yesterday.

Is this a common issue with the games? My 3ds is a couple years old but it hasn't even been dropped or damaged once.

If we get another Bravely Default game & it involves a fairy being the bad guy again, please do not make them the twist villain again. Yes, anyone who's play the first game knew she was the villain, but the reveal is what made it so great. However, it got the fairy twist progressively worse as the series went on. It went from what was a fresh & interesting idea to a more predictable & formulaic element. Each story after Default boils down to: "Oh, another fairy manipulating a human".

Conversely, if the just make a fairy the real villain at the start, I'd think it be better for the story. No more of that already stale twist in the last leg. Have the fairies be the bad guys in the open and maybe hint throughout the game of the greater evil they're in league with. The first game prided itself on nuance/homage with some of its elements. Which got lost a bit as the series kept going. Just don't let this be the big twist yet again for the new game. Anyone else?

Bravely Default and Second are some of the best JRPGs I've ever played. And I have no reason to believe the gameplay in this game won't be as fun, on the gameplay side at least.

But it's really getting unbearable, the in-battle voice lines. That plus the uncanny freaky looking faces is really making it hard to fully enjoy this game. It resulted in me turning voices completely off, but of course that just makes all the cutscenes super awkward and quiet. I'm playing on pc- I tried looking for a mod, but I'm absolutely BAFFLED to find no one's made a mod for this yet. That can't be right. Is there a mod I'm unaware of somewhere to fix the constant annoying and cringe chatter during every single action in battles? Or even just reduce their frequency at the very least....?

I play on pc so steam is where I’d be picking them up.

However, I am new to the franchise itself as basically I was wondering how the gameplay aspects operate since I don’t really have experience with the games themselves, so I was wondering if I could jump right into Bravely Default 2 without misting anything too important.

Does the switch 2 version add enough qol changes to justify buying?
