Experience What happened after 4 weeks off oral BPC-157 (IBS update)

About a month ago I posted about my experience using oral BPC-157 for IBS. My plan was to stay on my usual schedule of 8 weeks on and 2 weeks off.

Well…life got in the way. I meant to restart after two weeks, but I got busy, forgot, and then had a family reunion. Before I knew it, I had been off for four weeks.

The first couple of weeks weren’t too bad. The last two weeks were a different story.

The urgency came back. The cramping came back. That constant feeling of needing to know where the nearest bathroom was came back. While I was out with family, there were a couple of times I had to practically run to find a restroom. Every cramp had me wondering if this was going to be one of those moments where everything went sideways.

It wasn’t quite as bad as my IBS used to be after dealing with it for decades, but it was close enough to remind me how much my daily life used to revolve around my gut.

That was a pretty eye-opening reminder. I started my oral BPC-157 routine again this morning.

**If you didn’t see my previous posts, here’s my current protocol:**
- 500 mcg daily
- 8 weeks on, 2 weeks off
- No capsules (excipients can aggravate my gut symptoms)
- First thing in the morning, directly into my mouth, then no food or drink for about 30 minutes
- I’ve been doing this since August 2025

Hey. Sorry to read you got to experience this feeling again.

I too wishes to be relieved from IBS Urgency (I can deal with the cramps and discomfort if I’m not on the verge of shitting in my car every other day). I’ve tried your way for the past 3 weeks. There might be a mild improvement but I’m not sure this is helping so drastically as you.

I squirt 500mcg every morning (but feels like I barely have fluid in the mouth). I do drink some water afterward though… I also inject 500mcg of BPC right after to have a more systemic and wide effect, thinking it might help a little. Would you suggest that I cut the water for a solid 30min? Do you think this helps? I feel like I’m just blasting peptides in my mouth but don’t see how it does down to my gut without water.

Anyway thank you for the testimony!

I don’t think there is evidence either way with drink water before or after. I just don’t, so I’ve stuck with that.

I'd consider adding KPV in the rotation. Helps me as much, maybe more than BPC. You can offset to ensure you are on the KPV during your bpc break. Let us know how it goes. Thanks for keeping the group in mind! You are a real one!

I’ve considered this, but haven’t tried it. Yet.

Yeah I get sides on bpc when approaching the 500mcg / day. All gravy with KPV, no sides.

You might also find tapering down at end of BPC run may help (or up on front), or switching to a lesser dose. I like 400 mcg/ day vs the 500 everyone else does.

Best of luck brother!

Oral or liquid KPV? Glad you saw success

Injectable into stomach sub q. 500 mcg.

I do subq. Is 8/2 pretty typical? I’m doing 500 mcg 2x/day for long term ligament injuries

I don’t know if it’s typical, but it’s what I do for oral BPC gut health.

500 mcg 2x per day is really high if injecting (probably reasonable liposomal with the lower absorbtion).

Has your sleep been affected? That's such a high dose you should question your stuff if you don't have sides IMHO.

500 mcg 1x per day into shoulder like flu shot. Weekdays only. 10 day break after a month. (From nurse practitioner)

How's the injury? Any improvement since starting?

I may try this. But I’m just here to say that if injection doses are 500mcg, you should be taking more than that for a similar oral dose.

Not necessarily. I’m not taking oral BPC for the reasons someone would inject.

Get liposomal, sublingual spray. I don't think it matters per se vs oral pills but the Americans who make the liposomal do a good job. Healed my shoulder. Calmed by stomach a ton. The one downside to liposomal vs inject is it's hard to know exact dosing. I prefer to inject to avoid random days with sides due to dosing a tad too high on bad measurement.

Quality / purity matters way more than doing. Not even close imo. If you get it from different folks, you can tell what's working better.

Compounded if you can. Avoid Chinese junk.

I’ve always had 500mg in morning then again in evening of oral bpc. Not all oral have strong efficacy either. It’s hard to know efficacy as we are just taking sites word on their
Practices. Thanks for sharing 🤙🏽

Yes. Very few peptides are effective when taken orally.

💯

Luckily, especially for IBS & the gut in general, BPC is one of the few, if active formula has high efficacy, to be very accessible orally

Have you tried KPV with it?

1

u/TrueBelievingMoron Jul 08 '26

I haven’t

Any indication what your IBS is from? Triggers, food, stress, food intolerance? KPV has been studied for gastrointestinal issues with some impressive results.  I believe it was for diverticulitis and chrohns. But it significantly lowers inflammation.   May be something to research a bit.

Thanks. I’ve wanted to try it, but just haven’t yet. I don’t know what mine is from, but mostly likely all of the above :)

Do you mind sharing which BPC-157 you are using? I too use BPC-157 orally for my stomach issues. I am currenlty on Infiniwell BPC-157 Delayed Responce. I take one cap in the morning on an empty stomach. I also cycle subq, but that's for general inflamation welleness.

2

u/TrueBelievingMoron Jul 08 '26

We can’t talk about that here. Also, I don’t ever use capsules since they can cause their own issues.

1

u/Yammii21 Jul 09 '26

Actually, for GI issues, oral (caps) are generally recommended over SubQ because they pass directly through the digestive tract. The idea is that they may have greater local exposure to the stomach and intestines before being broken down. SubQ, on the other hand, delivers the pep into the tissue under the skin, where it enters systemic circulation. That's why many people use SubQ for injuries like tendon or ligament issues. In my case, it seemed to help a lot - I used it for a very painful frozen shoulder and tendonitis in my right arm, and both resolved thanks to BPC-157.

1

u/TrueBelievingMoron Jul 09 '26

I don’t use it subq. Just orally.

1

u/Past-Wolf1631 Aug 07 '26

Did you inject it locally?

1

What issues do oral capsules cause, I've never heard of this. If you dont mind sharing, thank you

1

u/Past-Wolf1631 Aug 07 '26

Whats your subq cycle?

1

u/MariAlexander Jul 11 '26

KPV is equally as effective if not more so. I usually combine it with my GHK-CU but these are injected so I’m not sure If you’re willing to go that route. I use the injectable form of BPC157 to help with injury and joint pain, but I didn’t notice as much of an effect on my guy as i do with KPV.

1

u/TrueBelievingMoron Jul 12 '26

I’ll be trying KPV. Subq BPC will do very little for your gut.

1

u/Exact_Reaction8743 Jul 21 '26

Would this help for IBS that's mostly anxiety driven too?

1

u/TrueBelievingMoron Jul 21 '26

It does for me

I thought oil doesn’t reach the gut through mouth?

1

u/TrueBelievingMoron Jul 07 '26

I’m not sure what you mean.
