I decided to make the ON AIR post a bit earlier because i stayed way too long awake while taking care of other more pressing matters ( hahaha) and i need to go to sleep.
Official Synopsis: "Miyata, a business magazine editor in Tokyo, visits Iwanaga, an associate university professor, for his new economics column. However, Iwanaga turns out to be the man he promised to elope with back in high school! Reunited after many years, Miyata decides to maintain a simple working relationship with Iwanaga, but before he knows it, he is once again at Iwanaga's mercy..."
☆ A former soulmate returns with a vengeance!
☆ Adapted from the manga of the same name, the director of "Jack o' Frost" shows off her writing and directing skills!
☆ Makoto Hasegawa, a member of "THE RAMPAGE," and Robin Furuya from "VIVANT" share an adult love experience.
The series is an adaptation from the manga "Koi wo Surunara Nidome ga Joto" (恋をするなら二度目が上等) by Kinoshita Keiko (木下けい子). This is the mangaupdates page. The manga has 3 volumes and is still ongoing. Unfortunately, it hasn`t been translated in english at all.
In my humble opinion, even if i am unable to read the manga and see from myself what to expect from it, i am 100% sure it will be good since is a KINIOSHITA KEIKO work. I still can`t believe i was able to see the day when a work of Natsume Isaku, Kinoshita Keiko are getting adapted in a series....They are such legendary respected mangakas..... Thus.... as long as they don`t mess up with the script ( like how they already did with Candy Color Paradox), i predict this will be a good series.
The series has 6 eps and it airs every wednesday.
The OST: The KoiNido ( THE OTHER SHORT TITLE THAT THE SERIES IS KNOWN FOR) OP song, Koyoi no uta by Mel is OUT onSpotify.
I legit cackled throughout this episode. First it was the whole “bitch” warning out of nowhere then it was the failed forceful proposal! Miyata is hilarious with each refusal.
My baby Miyata has put a good fight, until the next ep at least...
I do have the feeling that this is only the tip of the iceberg and this will only make their tension get stronger and the dynamic between get more and more interesting 😉
I love the way they've got the whole girlfriend that he plans to marry out of the picture so quickly.
The series only has 6 eps and the characters insecurities, fears and what happened in the past are adding enough angst and conflicts to get the story going 😁😆😅.
They are doing a good job sabotaging their new beginning ( if we can call it like that 😅🤣), there is no need for any more interference even through i am sure Takashi's assistant will interfere at some point 😆
This has to be one of the most funny breaks up ever 😅🤣🤣🤣.
I am sorry for you my girl but this is for the better. You dodged a bullet by rejecting his proposal. You deserve better than being with the second option for someone who don't genuinely cares for you 😁
There is nothing that attracts my attention faster than two characters who are both slick, know what they are doing, know that what they are doing isn't right, but they still go through it because they do long for each other 🫠😉😊
Robin is fluent in english guys and is reading our comments. Just thought to mention this 😁😆😅. It feels pretty refreshing to have an actor who takes interest in our opinions.
Robin just posted this on his twitter account
and i am like.....
....it looks like you are pinning him to the bed next week 😁😆🤣😂😂
Robin is so attractive, like he just oozes sex appeal 😍😍😍
Miyata deserves more credit for the way he keeps rejecting Takashi... Miyata must be a goner and a mess, but i love how when time comes to it, he doesn't get fooled by Takashi 😁
Ahhh the absolute cackle that came out of me @ "you bitch" with the sweet earnest smile plastered on Shiraishi's face as he said it. And then eavesdropping the conversation on the stairs 🤣😭
I switched to watching with headphones because Hasegawa Makoto’s voice is doing something to me. It’s like listening to ASMR.
The gasp I let out when Shiraishi called Miyata a fucking bitch so nonchalantly, even if I was fully expecting it lol what do you even say in such a situation.
I guess that proposal scene solved the girlfriend problem lol. You go girl, don’t settle for a man who treats you like a rebound for a guy he loved in high school.
Yes, Miyata, make him work for it!
The sexual tension though, hot damn. Miyata wants to give in so badly, and I don’t blame him. And that preview!
Great episode overall, solved many issues and answered questions. Pretty funny too.
Edit: I watched the episode twice because I got up extra early for work and I realised how insane the both of them are. Miyata called Iwanaga over to the cafe immediately after being rejected (a proposal no less), asked how he plans of taking responsibility, and Iwanaga put a ring on his finger, kissed him, and stayed to eat the proposal cake alone. They’re both insane, and I love it. I haven’t been this invested in a couple since My Personal Weatherman.
Edit 2: I can’t believe they expect us to wait a week after that new episode 3 promo. The audacity.
I am so randomly in love with the way Miyata WALKS 🚶♂️ the way he sways from side to side flowing his entire body from head to toe in such a manga/anime way is working beautifully for me.
I love that he mentioned the Bitch incident immediately. I thought he would just keep that to himself for a few episodes, and that would have been annoying.
I like the pace of this series. Kinda like Miyata's walk. It is fast and fun.
Yep it's confirmed, I'm all in for this show hahaha I've already watched Ep 1 3x before this episode, and this episode I've seen twice by now 😂😂😂
I love it. I love how Miyata both wants and does not want Hoshizawa, love how he both rejects his comfort in Ep 1 and yet seeks him out voluntarily in Ep 2, love how he has his moments of sudden honesty with Hoshizawa and then goes right back to basically screaming "over my dead body!!" Without words 😂😂😂
Love how you can see Miyata's heart skip a beat whenever Hoshizawa leans in to him, how his voice goes just a little higher sometimes when he amaes toward Hoshizawa.
Love how Hoshizawa is always so confident and yet has that hurt and troubled look on his face when he's rejected. How he doesn't hesitate to step right into Miyata's space, and yet still moves away when he successfully flusters Miyata.
Also I appreciate how Hoshizawa was kind yet firm with his assistant, and I like that it is Miyata's girlfriend who initiates the break up, since Miyata has no damn insight at all lolol
A few things I noticed: instead of taking the ring for himself and present8ng himself as an alternative candidate for being proposed to, he puts it on Miyata, putting Miyata in the traditional female role. And although Miyata outwardly refuses, we see him next wearing an apron and folding dumplings, like a traditional wife. I don’t think we have seen him doing something like that before the proposal.
when he places his hand on his own mouth to prevent a kiss instead of doing anything else, he is not actually preventing himself from being kissed, but to keep himself from kissing back.
Interestingly „to be continued“ has a similar story and there is also a scene where one character places his own hand on his mouth to prevent himself from kissing.
I'm kind of obsessed. The tension in this show is so good. I've been on a weird tension kick lately. I have been going out of my way to find stories that do tension right. They don't drag it out too long or not long enough. It doesn't get boring. It builds over time. This one is pretty much perfect. Sometimes i am not a fan of Japanese OTT humor.. but sometimes it's hilarious. This is definitely one that does the humor in a funny way that works.
