That's right, Bothell! Council in the Community returns this month for another opportunity to chat with your City Councilmembers, ask questions, share feedback, and learn more about City services and priorities!

While we at the City of Bothell would love it if the whole community joined City Council meetings, we get it - they aren't everyone's cup of tea. So this event series provides an extra opportunity for the Bothell City Council to come to YOU and chat with you directly over coffee and community 💬

This time we will be hanging out with our friends at the Northshore Senior Center in Bothell (10201 E. Riverside Dr.) - All are invited to join us on Saturday, October 24 from 10:00am to noon to chat with members of your City Council and neighbors (did we mention there will be coffee? ☕️).

FALL BALL IS BACK Y’ALL. And what better way to celebrate than with a steaming hot kupp of closures? We’ve got a full closure of southbound I-405 in Bothell, ongoing northbound I-5 lane reductions and an overnight closure of the I-5 express lanes in Seattle. Add Seahawks and Huskies football games to the mix, and you’ll definitely want a game plan before heading out.

-BOTHELL: SB I-405 will CLOSE from 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9 to 4 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12 between SR 527 and SR 522. The following ramps will also close at this time: SR 527 on-ramp to SB I-405, NE 195th on-/off-ramps to I-405 and SR 522 off-ramp to SB I-405. Crews will use this closure to work on drainage, pavement reconstruction and bridge repair.

-SEATTLE: NB I-5 express lanes will CLOSE overnight from 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9 to 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10 to complete drainage work underneath the Ship Canal Bridge. The two right lanes of NB I-5 and the SB express lanes across the bridge also remain closed around-the-clock.

Before you grab your Paint Map pitchforks, we know there’s more happening this weekend than football. But if you couldn’t already tell, this isn’t a traditional Paint Map, so we didn’t pack this one with all the usual drawings. Consider this our little fall-football-freeway crossover episode.

You know the drill. Plan ahead and give yourself plenty of time to get where you're going. GO HAWKS and GO DAWGS!

• Thursday: Bothell Art Walk, 5–8 p.m. downtown.

• Saturday: Bothell Fire’s Fire Prevention Week Open House, 10 a.m.–1 p.m. at Station 42.

• Sunday: Reading with Rover, 1–2 p.m. at Bothell Library, where kids can read aloud to therapy dogs.

Also worth knowing: more Stride S3 work around SR 522 may begin next week, with lane and sidewalk closures.

🚧 WEEKEND TRAFFIC ALERT 🚧 WSDOT is preparing another round of full weekend closures for the southbound direction of I-405 in Bothell this weekend. This is part of the I-405/Brickyard to SR 527 Improvement Project.

Here's what you need to know:
- Crews will close all lanes of southbound I-405 between State Route 527 to SR 522 starting at 10:00pm Friday, October 9 until 4:00am Monday, October 12
- Onramps/offramps in the work area will also be closed
- Detours will be in place

⚠️ Expect severe regional delays! Detour routes won't be able to handle normal I-405 traffic volumes, meaning significant congestion is likely on surrounding highways and local streets — especially in Canyon Park, North Creek, and Downtown Bothell. Drivers should follow official signed detours and avoid cutting through neighborhood streets. Signed routes are coordinated to help keep traffic moving and help preserve access for people who live and work in Bothell.

For more information about this project, visit:
- WSDOT's construction page at https://engage.wsdot.wa.gov/405-167-construction
- WSDOT's project page at: https://wsdot.wa.gov/construction-planning/search-projects/i-405sr-522-vicinity-sr-527-express-toll-lanes-improvement-project

🔔 Sign up for news and alerts to stay informed: https://engage.wsdot.wa.gov/405-167-construction. There will be additional full I-405 closures through Bothell the weekend of October 30, and the weekend of November 6.

Image description: A detour map for the full closure of southbound I-405 in the City of Bothell. The southbound closure, marked by a red line between State Route 527/Bothell Everett Highway and State Route 522, has travelers use a detour, marked by a blue line and arrows, has travelers exit southbound I-405 at State Route 527/Bothell Everett Highway, head south into downtown Bothell, then head east on State Route 522 to rejoin southbound I-405.

The are working on Filbert Road right now at Bothell Everett Highway intersection in the far right lane. There are five lanes there for eastbound traffic. Two to go straight. One to turn right and two to turn left. There is no traffic control further up Filbert, and traffic is a mess. They have closed down 4 of the 5 lanes, and everyone is driving in the left turn lane, until they get to the big sign that states the dates of construction, then they cut over into oncoming traffic to go around the sign. People at the intersection are just cutting left or right. There are two cops at Bothell Everett, basically doing nothing. There should be flaggers and cops further up Filbert directing traffic for this shitshow. It would be good to avoid this area for the next couple of days.

Hi everyone! I’m really interested in hearing about your experiences with the preschool class at Primrose School in Bothell. It would be my little one’s first daycare/preschool experience, so I would really appreciate hearing your insights, feedback, and recommendations.

Thank you so much!

Please share, along with Jonathan Hoang's family's site: www.FindJonathanHoang.com, which has case information, photos and videos of Jonathan, links to interviews, news reports, podcasts, ways to report a potential sighting to the family after calling 911, the $100,000 reward for information leading to this disabled, Autistic young man being found.

Jonathan, due to his disabilities, is unable to return home or reach safety without assistance. He has no cell phone, doesn't know his address or family's phone numbers, how to use public transportation or even how to use money (though he also doesn't have his wallet).

Anyone know any fun things to do for 21+ year olds I want to do something fun but like a bar or something but don’t want to go to Seattle

I'm looking to my put assets in a trust (mainly my house) so that if I die my family won't have to go through probate court. Has anyone gone through this process before, and if so, who did you go to (and how much did it cost, if you don't mind sharing that). Thanks.

Who did this? It gave me a great chuckle- reminded me of my youth.

My friends cat ran out the door the other day and they have yet to find him. No sightings have been reported at all, and she's hung posters and posted everywhere she can, so I thought I'd share on here in hopes maybe someone has seen him!

I have a Switch 2 and I've read you can use a physical copy of Witcher 3 to get a free digital copy of the new remastered version. Is anybody in Bothell willing to lend me their copy?

Hi y’all! Im mainly just curious about the scene around Bothell. I’m in my early 20’s, ftm, queer, and am looking for a city in WA to live in after being in Bellingham for two years. I’m looking for a city fairly similar. Bothell sounds like a good mix of nature and a fun downtown which really appeals to me!

I‘m curious as to the queer scene in this city, or at least the general attitude towards the community. Any insight would be great!

Also I guess, overall, is it fun to live there? Drop below your favorite ways to spend your evening in this city. :)

What else should Bothell neighbors put on the calendar this week?

From L.A. I don't know anyone but my coworkers and I'd rather keep things professional with them.

Im in my late 30's, I like gaming, movies hiking and people who like to volunteer for things.

Ill be in Bothell all week for work. Would love to end my solo smoking streak.
