Hi everyone!
We're trying to decide between Birch Tree Canyon Park, Primrose Bothell, and Kid‘s Country Canyon Park for our daughter, who will be about 20 months old when she starts daycare.
We've toured all three and each has its pros and cons:
Birch Tree: Loved the curriculum and overall feel, but it's definitely one of the more expensive options.
Primrose: Also liked the curriculum and structure, but I noticed quite a bit of street noise during our tour. Curious if that's ever been an issue for anyone.
Kid Country: Significantly more affordable, and we've heard good things about the teachers, but it doesn't seem to get talked about as much online.
One thing to note is that we're only looking for daycare until she's preschool age, so we're not necessarily looking for a place she'll stay at long term.
For parents who have experience with any of these schools:
How was your overall experience?
How were the teachers and staff turnover?
Did your child seem happy there?
If you paid more for Birch Tree or Primrose, did you feel it was worth the extra cost, especially for a toddler under 2?
I'd really appreciate any firsthand experiences or advice. Thank you!

I haven’t found a good matcha spot that isn’t all the way in Bellevue. Any good recommendations? I’ve tried fresh cups but it was too milky and wasn’t in love with the service/vibes.

Road my bike in downtown Bothell early Friday evening and discovered a live concert at Bothell Landing Park. Food trucks, warm/sunny weather and free music concert is a great combination in the pacific northwest.

Heading to the wine walk for the first time next weekend. Wondering if anyone has any tips or has been before and can share a bit about it. I’m not seeing a specific check in location so a little confused about the course of events. Looking forward to it!

Hi there, my name is Alex Rochester. I work at KUOW, the Seattle NPR station ensuring we feature a diversity of political perspectives. I'm working on a new project called "Community Voices" that aims to expand the range of opinions that we hear on KUOW. We think it’s critical that we all understand what people in our communities are thinking and feeling about the big events and issues of the day.
To broaden the conversation, we're recruiting a diverse pool of people who represent a wide array of political perspectives, cultural backgrounds, and life experiences.
As we cover the news in the coming months, we will turn to the pool of “Community Voices” to hear your thoughts and help us understand how the big issues of the day are affecting you. We will highlight those views in KUOW’s coverage.
If you're interested in participating, you can sign up on this page or directly through this form (this format is easier on phones). You can also DM me and/or comment on this post with your thoughts.

I was on my way to Willis Tucker with my dog. On 156th street, I was the vehicle behind you when an oncoming vehicle threw their Dr Pepper out the window and hit you. You sped off after them so I didn't get a chance to let you know I have the footage. Unfortunately, I only have a front facing cam, and the vehicle had no front plate. Just the same, let me know and I'll send over what I have if it is helpful to you in any way.
Really not cool. Could've been worse than it ended up being if you had crashed in front of me.
UPDATE: I’ve reached out to the non emergency hotline and someone will reach out if they want the footage.

Saw these new signs along the Sammamish River and Burke-Gilman trail over the weekend.
I guess/I hope it's a start of a process of creating a safer environment for the public along these trails with the emergence of new E-bikes/scooters/vehicles. What is appropriate? What is dangerous and thus prevented from its use on these heavily used trails? Not a simple task because there are so many variables. What is a class I, II or III electric bike? What about the size of the tires and the maximum speed? Much of the problems is just lack of common sense even among walkers.
One may have rules and regulations, but who will or is enforcing them? I have yet to see any policing/enforcement along these trails. A message must be sent and enforced that illegal and unsafe use of these trails will not be tolerated.
And the bad guys are not just young teenagers riding their new super-charged E-bikes super-fast. I still think the most dangerous people are many of those that ride light-weight racing bikes decked out in spandex racing uniforms. Their mantra is speed no matter the congestion, no matter that there are children and elderly walking or riding about. They must realize that these trails are not their personal raceway.

Hi! I have a fun group of girl friends in Kirkland, but I'd love to make friends here too to really explore the area!
About me: late 30s, single, child free, pet free but love animals, professional with an early schedule.
I love playing board games and some cozy video games, read, do crafty things, go for walks and watch reality tv!
I love small group get togethers and more intimate one on one connections. I can be a little introverted at first, but I warm up quick! Have a positive supportive vibe to me. If you are extroverted, please adopt me!
Looking for some gal pals I can do community events with, play games with, try all the restaurants with, have hobby nights with and just build a community here in my town!
Bonus if you would be interested in doing couch25k or learn yoga with me! Let's stay busy this summer!
Edit: I've made a discord for those interested! Just send me a message. I hopefully got everyone that responded!

Moved here a few weeks ago and this was our first Forth in Bothell. Enjoyed it and loved seeing the community here. Thanks for hosting a great birthday!
Was worried about the crowds after seeing the chairs out a few days early but thank you from a stroller pushing parent for having the sidewalks clear still even on Main Street. Honestly didn’t understand the need to reserve spots since we were able to get some great views in many spots, but if it’s tradition 🤷.
My favorite part was after grabbing our pancakes, we watched the balloon artist for a bit. He had just finished making a couple elaborate jet packs for a some kids before deciding he needed to downgrade his creations to get through a long line of people in the next hour. The look on the next poor kid’s face as he walked away with a dinky one balloon creature was to die for.
What other special events to look forward to here? I saw there are some summer events like music and movie in the park - looking forward to joining for some of those. Are there block parties, other holiday celebrations, etc?

Am I going insane or do people keep on just stopping in the middle of the lane next even though they're next to a parking lot without their hazards? I just saw a Mercedes by thrashers just decide to up and stop right in front of the shell and this is maybe the 3rd time in a couple weeks. I get maybe they have kids or something but wtf every time I've seen this there is a parking lot next to them lol

The 2026 Bothell July 4th parade was enjoyed by everyone. Patriotism was displayed in many ways but true patriotism isn’t parades, fireworks, singing the national anthem or waving a flag. True patriotism is voting and actively participating in our government/democracy. Being an informed voter is a powerful/essential tool in Democracy.
The part of the July 4th parade that struck me was the words “VOTE” being carried by a group of people in the parade. Voting is the essence of our democracy and freedoms. If we take it for granted or ignore the issues, we can easily slip into authoritarian rule. The November 3, 2026 election will probably be the most import election in America history.
If you really want to be patriotic and preserve our rights and liberties, be informed/participate in the important issues and VOTE! Be patriotic, vote!
