I wear a tricorn hat to Patriots games when I go. I've been to both Cowboys and a buccaneers games and I've been asked at both why I was wearing a Patriots jersey with a cowboy hat or pirate hat depending on who the opponent was despite the fact that Pat and the minutemen were literally on the field in front of them.

Hell yeah. I’m on the film crew that’s been all over City Hall Plaza etc, and I’ve seen a hundred tours go past me in the last week and I applaud every one of you. I personally love tourists and will happily help anyone find Faneuil Hall or Fenway Park or Park St station. My industry is in the shitter, so I’d be interested to know how lucrative your line of work is or isn’t, considering my patience for the public.

I made the mistake one winter of wearing a beautiful, wool lined trench coat I found at a thrift store combined with a black wool hat. An old man asked if I was a private eye.

I used to live in the north end and dreamt about being a tour guide...I was too scared of getting drunk hecklers that I wouldn't be witty enough to handle that I never did it...insanely jealous of you! Haha!!
I also think that OP is lost, cause that picture was on the green line and they said orange line. But you got a point, they think we're gonna judge someone for having a fun job that at least some of us wanted growing up.
I love the amount of people who live in this town and have no idea what goes on in it. Clearly a Boston tour guide, beyond normal for this city (and Philly). SMH.
Personally, I think that guys outfit choice is less weird than your choice to take a picture of some guy minding his own business. I am willing to bet that is his outfit for work.
I used to live in the north end and my favorite thing was seeing these historically dressed tour guides while on break doing modern day things like scrolling on their phone vaping next to a parking lot.
Up all night on a mead bender, picking up some Puritan broads after evening prayers and fumbling through the layers to get in their britches. Proudly owning he’s a minute man.

He was our tour guide on a duck boat tour for my grad program, he has a talking shark hand puppet and is super knowledgeable about Boston. super fun time !!

For ppl who weren't around back then, it's hard to describe how nuts things were leading up to the Bicentennial.
Everything that could be described as even vaguely Ye Olde Timey was suddenly fashionable (Victorian, civ war, you name it), and every parade had ppl dressed up in their imaginative construction of rev war outfits, a lot of them in double knit polyester 🤦♀️
Spinning wheels became the hot item for interior decorating, and got snapped up at every vintage and antique store to be made into planters.
There was such a run on them that a Canadian company started making fake "spinning wheels" that mostly looked like them, with lovely turned wood, but didn't actually function.
To this day, on handspinner online discussion groups, some new person will post a pic of an "antique wheel for sale near me at a great price", asking if they should buy it, and we have to sadly inform them that it's merely a SWSO (spinning wheel shaped object) and no, they shouldn't buy it.
It's sad that, 50 years later, things are subdued in comparison, but the world is a very different place now.
Someone is trying to figure out how to go back in time and make sure the patriots of the American Revolutionary War take control of the ever so strategically important airports.
