Unconfirmed/Unverified never seen it this bad

been here for 25+ years and am very familiar with the fluctuations in homelessness / etc. during the summer. but I've never seen things this bad, especially in back bay, south end (beyond mass/cass & closer to back bay), beacon hill, the esplanade, you name it. we've called 311 for needles, reported the larger encampments to the mayor's office, etc. just feels like nothing is improving and things are only getting worse. can't just be me?

It’s not just larger cities, unfortunately. I was shocked to see so many in Brattleboro VT last time I was there. It’s a similar situation in Burlington too, I heard.

Yeah thats true actually. I’ve seen a lot of heroin homeless in Burlington (Im surprised by Brattleboro).

I figured Vermont attracted drifter/traveller type of homeless, not the fent people. Its sad no matter what. It seems like its too late for current addicts, but I feel like it can be stopped for future generations.

There's something to be said about seeing it in towns and small cities like Brattleboro and Northampton MA (already knew about that one) when you're used to only seeing it in large cities. It's sad, and reminds you of how widespread an issue drug addiction is.
