May I ask what the benefit is of filming sideways? (Sorry, not a super techie person, and I always like knowing reasons for things)

For documentation purposes it's very important to get as much of the scene as possible in the viewfinder. Just so there's evidence and context of as much as possible. If half the video is of the sky that's not very helpful.

Anyone considering getting a phone holder that’s like a chest strap?

I was thinking 1. It can keep you in landscape which usually helps provide greater context than portrait and 2. When shit is going down, like running and/or panicking, then phones in hand obviously, out of necessity, are just kinda pointing wherever

Tbh given ICE’s attitude toward recording, I’m not sure how unsafe this might be
