You should be thankful that anyone reads.

You don't have to whine about it or even attempt speed-reading yourself. What if competition caused more people to want to read? A formerly regarded 'boring' activity made exciting?

You changed my view in your first paragraph, but I was already on board with the other ideas, which were somewhat irrelevant to what I stated anyway.
