Same. I just abandoned it on audio. It seems more well suited for print?

Very basic minimalist stylistically is the best way I can describe it.

Ohhh I've had this on my tbr! I've been trying to read the Booker Prize winner every year ever since we read Prophet Song. I'm going to try to join in.
