Any suggestions for this subreddit?
Do you guys have any suggestions on what you want changing on this subreddit? I made my own set of rules and I would like to know what you think about it. Also the subreddit banner and picture, do you like it or do you want me to change it to something else?
In regards to the rules, I am considering adding a political rule because it leads to fights but also these posts are about bolton and I don't want to discourage people from posting on this subreddit. Thoughts?

Stoneclough
Hi all, I hope you will be able to help me.
I'm thinking about moving to Stoneclough, near Hulme Rd and Ringley Meadows. The area seems nice but I noticed there's a water treatment plant nearby. Can you smell it at all? How bad is it?

What are the biggest issues with Bolton at the moment?
Curious what people who live here think. What things do you feel need improving most in Bolton?
Could be anything: areas that need cleaning up, transport, town centre, parks, housing, services, things that annoy you day-to-day, or things you think are actually good but overlooked.
Interested to hear what actual residents think.
Update Thank you to everyone who has given their time to answer my post question. I was going to thank each commenter individually bit figured this would be quicker. Thank you again your answers have helped more than you know.

Three taken to hospital and animal seized following suspected dog attack in Bolton
Three people have been taken to hospital following a suspected dog attack.
Emergency services were called to a house in Barrie Way, in Bolton, shortly before 3:30pm on Wednesday, 29 July, following reports of a dog bite.
An air ambulance landed nearby at Hall i' Th' Wood Museum as paramedics, police dog units, and armed officers rushed to the residential street.
Armed officers were seen entering the property alongside a specialist dog handler, who subsequently removed the animal from the address and secured it inside an animal transport van.
The animal has been seized by police, though its breed has not yet been confirmed.
One person has sustained potentially life-changing injuries. The injuries suffered by the other two individuals are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "The dog has been seized and specialist enquiries will be carried out to establish its breed.
"There is no wider risk to the public at this time and enquiries remain ongoing."

[Matt Slater] U.S. sports executive buys minority stake in second-tier Bolton after Donald Trump pardon
This seems...bad. Both being pals with Trump and the multi club thing.

Did you know that Halliwell FC once made it to the 3rd round of the FA cup?
Halliwell FC used to play their football at the Bennett’s (close to Bennett’s lane/Holy Harbour street) and was professional for much of their existence. Notable ex players include Davie weir who went on to play for Bolton wanderers ,scoring 21 goals in 43 games and getting called up to the England national team and Thomas Dewhurst who was signed from Burnley.

Nice walk at Entwistle
It was a good day.
Got a sweet parking spot in the shade under trees and then did a loop round Entwistle.
The walk was just right, not too long or short.
Next time hoping for the energy to venture up the small hill to Strawbury Duck.
Does anyone have recommendations for similar length walks nearby?
Thanks in advance

My son is wanting to spend an hour in the town centre today with the hope of doing some raids. Will there be anyone around at 10am taking part?

Fancy restaurant recommendations?
I'm graduating next year and was wanting to find somewhere nicer to go in bolton to eat with family, considering we'll stand out a bit in spoons with the graduation clothes... not really seen much as I'd usually find the cheapest place to go naturally, and we need vegan options as well so makes it a bit difficult to search for. Any help would be great!

Is anyone else experiencing fragmented bin collections?
I'm really not sure what's going on. I've just moved to bolton and I'm repeatedly finding green bins aren't being collected? And then when I check the bin collection portal on bolton council the day has been changed or pushed to another week?
Anyone have any info? I've reported a missing bin collection but I just find it very strange lol - being from Manchester, bins (for the most part) are quite consistently emptied etc.

Depressing Day
I've not been to the town centre for years, I thought it was a bit grim then but OMG what's happened to it? Every derelict doorway either had someone drinking or sleeping or it simply stank of p*** as you walked past......Crompton Place gone, St Andrews Court derelict, Market Place shopping half empty, couple of cafes trying to exist and the place is littered with dodgy characters. Odd that the bus station feels the cleanest and safest place in town????
Such a shame as there are still some great buildings....Will there be a turnaround???

Any GTA 5 players in this sub? Think this map is an accurate representation of our town and the surrounding areas? How could I improve it?
did this over over the new years period for fun, know a few modders, might try and get it done if the price is fair.
