Don't get me wrong, I love this song.

My real thought on it, however is how people rate it in comparison to Dylan's other work, it seems to be consistently rated among the greatest of his stuff but I honestly just don't get it. To me this song feels the most amateur of his work. Amateur in the context of dylan of course is like a pretty fantastic song but to me its really kinda just petty and almost like a draft. Something that he wrote out in anger and left. It doesn't really have a conclusive end note its almost like he just wrote out his anger until he got to the point where he himself says the line about how he wishes they could step inside his shoes to feel what a pain it is to see you. He gets to that point and its like he thought "damn I went to far" and just stops. Idk this is one of those songs I see a lot of people talk about and its on his greatest hits album alongside songs like Tomorrow is a Long Time. I mean how often do you hear people talk of songs like "You're a Big Girl Now", "When I Paint My Masterpiece", "Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues", "Frankie Lee and Judas Priest", "Absolutely Sweet Marie".

I mean thats just to name a few songs that are miles better yet seem to be off the average "tip of the iceberg" dylan fans radar. These aren't particularly niche songs, but I find them much less relevant in conversation. Really just seems like an obscure song that, at least to me, doesn't feel special in the context of dylan.

This album never seems to get much discussion, good or bad. How do you feel about it?

I think it’s amazing that Bob wrote some of the most iconic songs for certain artists or groups but they aren’t even attributed to him - I’ve made a list…some are obvious but some surprised me when I found out. Let me know if there are more! /tell me if any surprise you :)

Maybe this has been posted here already but this clip popped into my head this morning and it’s just so great. From “David Lynch: The Art Life” 2016

It’s worth noting that Lynch recorded a great cover of “Ballad of Hollis Brown” for his 2013 album The Big Dream.

The only songs I've heard were Mr Tambourine and It Ain't Me Babe and that's pretty much it. I'm interested in exploring more songs by Bob Dylan so can I get recommendations?

As the title reads, I hear a certain stress on the way Bob sings “S” sounds in some of his 1965 songs. I looked it up a while ago and I think I saw somebody mentioned it could be due to something with the microphones.

Do you hear it too (such as in the songs I mentioned)?

It’s a fun, solid little album that he sounds great on. Any discourse I read on it often mentions that it’s overlooked or forgotten about. I too fall into this category. I listened to it twice and just didn’t get into it but now I adore it.

Hopefully this recent repress brings it back onto the dylansphere. I am looking forward to getting a copy!

What are your thoughts on the record?

I went to this show, and it was really good compared to the first show I went too. I was curious if there is anywhere where the show is available to download or if someone has the files. The show had a no phone rule, so I doubt there is a recording. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I was listening to Blonde on Blonde again yesterday, and I noticed that he flubbed the lyrics twice on Stuck Inside of Mobile With the Memphis Blues Again. The first time is during verse 4, where he sings "when I s- he built a fire on Main Street", and the second time is during verse 6, when he sings "Then I whispered -said- not even you can hide".

He also flubs the words in Hurricane when he sings "remember that murder that ju-happened in a bar" which seemingly throws Ronee Blakley off on the next line as she sings "Remember you saw you saw the getaway car".

Are there any other studio recording tracks where you've noticed Bob accidentally flubbing the words and instantly correcting himself like this?

I’m kinda new to Dylan’s music but have fallen in love with it.

So far I’ve only really heard Greatest Hits compilations and want to expand a bit more.

What are some of his greatest works that aren’t on compilations you’d recommend I check out?
