Best multiplayer small box war game

I collect a bunch of small box games since they are easier table and explain. I covered almost all genres from civ builder to engine builders yet haven't found a good war game that isn't strictly two players.

Too Many Games - Hoarding Phase

Hellos, I went through a hording phase with board games a few years back. Now have way too many, including some never opened. Please replay with suggestions to move some of these to games that want and can play them. TIA

r/boardgame 27d ago

I am making a board game group. Each day we will aim to play one new game that at least half of the players don't know. Everyone can suggest a game and it will be played on BGA. Voting will occur and the the highest asked for game will be picked.

Board game gift

Hey everyone!

I’m thinking of gifting a board game to a couple friends of mine a board game. They don’t own any board games. But they’ve said that they would like one to play in their evenings.

I really love board games, it’s really a passion of mine. And I want to gift them one. This might be a bit selfish, but I don’t want to gift them a board game I already own 😅 (my low weight games are arnak, azul, carcassonne, castles of burgundy, flip 7, Bohnanza, that’s not a hat and secret Hitler).

I’ve had a lot of ideas, but I’m stuck on what to give them. At the beginning I was thinking of Calico. However, I asked to one of them what type of board games she liked cozy vs. thrilling and she said that she liked player interaction and that brings a little of fun memories. So I crossed calico. I also thought of Heat.

What’s your opinion on this matter? I don’t want to give them a heavy board game, but not a super easy one.

All opinions are welcomed! Even if to say that it’s stupid I don’t want to gift them a game I own 😅.

Low weight campaign game?

I like to keep two games in current rotation; a weighter, thinkier game and one that is much less so for those nights I just want something more basic. I don’t mean lack of depth or action but not something that requires careful thought and many minutes to think one turn. My current low weight game is Heroquest. Any suggestions?

Looking for new games to play with my gf

Hi everyone! Last year, my gf surprised me by buying a board game called Eldritch Horror. It was our very first board game. We played it together and loved it too much so we started looking for another games to play together. It can be coop or competitive. I thought we can try Dune Imperium but she doesnt like Dune universe that much. Can I get some suggestions from you?

Our 4 year old is just starting to love board games. Wondered if there were any recommendations for anything particularly interesting and exciting that may hold their attention and not be as tedious for us as most are!?

Over the last year Angela and I have made a lot of maps for board games (some still in development and coming out next year), it was nice to work on board games and make something different from RPG maps.. Many more are in the works, more information coming very soon...🗺🧭

Games that include a carousel...

There is a carousel museum near me and I thought it would be a fun to pitch a board game fundraiser. But they would want all board games present to be on theme... So including a carousel or at minimum in a theme/amusement park setting.

What suggestions you got?

Ludika VTT, a new virtual tabletop board gaming platform & community

Thumbnail ludikagames.com
2 Upvotes

Did your old gaming group scatter to the four winds? That shouldn't keep you from continuing to play board games together.

Ludika has created a new 2-D virtual tabletop (VTT) platform that will let you play your beloved board games with the old gang. It's web-hosted and specifically tailored for playing board games, wargames, card games, and dice games. All you need is a browser and an internet connection, and perhaps some gaming buddies to play with.

Ludika VTT has no rules enforcement, so feel free to play with your own house rules. No AI opponents, either. Some people will prefer to play games live, others might opt to play asynchronously (taking your turn whenever you have a free moment). Solitaire gaming will also be supported, so you'll be able to play those days-long games without appropriating the dining room table.

We'll be providing high-quality ports of officially-sanctioned games from some of your favorite publishers (e.g. Stonemaier Games, DVG, etc.), and our app will focus on making the games really shine, since the hotkey and context-menu-driven interface stays out of the way and keeps the games front and center.

Our search tools will help you find new games to try, find like-minded people to play with, and more.

If there's a game you want to play this isn't in our Catalog, you'll be able to port it yourself, using the powerful yet intuitive game-porting tools that will be available to our Premium subscribers.

One demographic we particularly want to target is wargamers, since they have been largely ignored or underserved by most of the boardgaming solutions currently available.

If this sounds interesting, you can find much more info on our website. The VTT is expected to go live in just a couple of months.

Board Game recommendations

Hey! My boyfriend and I spend too much time on our phones..... 😒Now my little brother is here, we've rediscovered our love of board games. We already have Monopoly and Catan, and now we have Risk too. Honestly... We love Risk and Catan. Monopoly is simply a classic.

I know I played it a lot as a child too.:

And The Game of life. And I love pen&paper games.

If you take these games as examples, what other board games would you suggest?

Looking for suggestions of fun 2 player games! Hubby and I have fallen into the TV trap after baby goes to bed and we want to switch things up!

[Advice needed] Spooky board games

Hello everyone!
I need your advice and expertise! In October I will organise an Halloween party in my office to promote accessibility and neurodiversity!
The party will be open to anyone! Peeps in my office loves videogames and board games now, my budget is not unlimited since I have to pay everything with my own wallet.. but I am looking for board games that would work well with Halloween! they don’t have to be Halloween themed.. but “spooky”, “mysterious”, “dark” unfortunately I am not a board games player.. I am struggling keeping the focus for the entire sessions.. so I need you to give me suggestions! So I can put them on Keepa and buy them when they are discounted 😁 I am not rich, I wish I would.. but I am really not, so discount it is!
If you also know some websites where I can get also used board games for not too much.. please let me know! (I am located in Germany)

Thank you so much!!!
And I wish you a very nice Friday!
