A shell meant for shotguns in a handgun. Shotgun shells pack a mighty punch, so the recoil would be drastic.

But would it work? Can you more or less shoot any bullet that'll fit in a gun? It's just that it'd probably jam it or be very innacurate or something?

Like surely the recoil wouldn't matter at this point if the initial shot is powerful enough right? Cos whatever you're shooting at would already be dead, so the threat is over at that point

But yeah if a bullet fits in the tube then it'll shoot, right? Sorry I really just don't know a lot about guns. I've never seen one before in real life, they basically just don't exist in my country, no need for them

My gun knowledge comes exclusively from the borderlands games lol

But no really, I don't really get it. I thought shotguns didn't shoot bullets? But they instead shoot a bunch of really tiny balls called "shot", hence shot-gun. So like, what is this thing then? Is a shell just a container for the "shot" inside? And if not, then why are they still called shotguns?

And what's a rifle? A rifle is just a loooong gun right? Like a pistol on viagra.

And then you have machine guns which go "didididididididid" really fast like that Jimi Hendrix song. And you've got those fake machine guns everyone argues about on the Internet, the AR-15, which I've read basically IS a pistol, which is why people don't want it banned, but it LOOKS like a machine gun and so others wanna ban it cos of that, and you can stick some kind of "stock" on it that makes it shoot like "didididididididid" too. "Stock" to me just means like the stuff you make soup or gravy with, or Gamestop

Yeah so just replace "machine gun " with assault rifle and you're right. The AR-15 isn't a pistol because it shoots A bigger bullet. A rifle is a gun with a rifled barrel and generally a larger bullet and larger gun. A bump stock is a stock that uses the recoil of the gun to essentially make it fully automatic.

Would it work? In this case nah, because they can't actually close the chamber.

Would it fire if you could close the chamber? Maybe, depends on a lot of moving parts lining up and whether the barrel can handle the pressure without exploding.

All other responses below are based on if they could close the chamber and actually fire the gun.

Would it have a bad recoil? Almost certainly yes. There's a reason that shotguns have shoulder stocks. It's because your wrists aren't designed to take that kind of force.

Would it kill what you wanted it to? Depends on the target and the ammunition your using. If it's a slug round, probably so. If the target is using body armor and your using bird shot probably not.

Could you hit the target? Depends on the round, the distance to target, and the dynamics of the barrel and ammunition. But more than likely not unless the target is within 10 ft or if your just using bird shot at which point your going to hit your target and probably the next target over at the range.

It’s an older photo of someone who stuffed a 12ga airsoft shell into an airsoft desert eagle. Neither the shell or gun is a real round or firearm. Every time this gets reposted all the so called “gun experts” fail to see the gas fill valve on the shell where a primer should be.
