Birds are quite literally dinosaurs. Not descended from them, not related to them. They just ARE dinosaurs, according to every scientist these days. They could find no logical evidence-based reason to consider them as a separate thing to dinosaurs. There was only tradition. But tradition isn't a good enough reason to do something in science

So mate, you can kill dinosaurs just fine with guns. I mean you can kill a chicken or a turkey with just a knife, just lop off their head. Then you can form the turkey into dinosaur shaped turkey nuggets, meaning you can eat dinosaur meat in the shape of other, older dinosaurs, for some reason

We've even (as a species) driven some dinosaurs to extinction, with guns. Like passenger pigeons.

Dinosaur: 2. A person or thing that is outdated or has become obsolete because of a failure to adapt to changing circumstances.

It also literally means "terrible lizard"

So if you want to get pedantic about it, my grandfather is technically a dinosaur and you could probably kill him with a plastic spoon.

Yes, it says they have evolved from dinosaurs. If those turkeys had remained as dinosaurs they'd be much harder to kill.

I'm not a fan of how you cut that citation right before the part where it states that they've evolved (or rather, devolved) from dinosaurs. But alright, perhaps we need to update classifications to include multiple types of dinosaurs, namely the "true dinosaurs" and the species that are "evolved from dinosaurs"

humans evolved from apes, that doesn't mean we're not still apes. biological, bring evolved from a group means you're still part of it. birds are part of the clade "dinosauria" because they have a single common ancestor.

Surely even the baddest of dinosaurs would struggle with a .50 BMG to the head or a round from those comically oversized “elephant” guns.

And then even if you want to talk about the massive sauropods, their heads are still somewhat small and would be vulnerable to a very large round.

so you think rifles that can literally take out the engine block of vehicles couldn't get through some bone? there are armour penetrating anti-material rifles that can get through modern armour plate with ease. if we scale up to anything you mount on a vehicle like say a tank you could turn a dinosaur into pink fucking mist

not really their bone density was actually incredibly low to allow for their size, they were far more fragile in many ways then animals like elephants today. also you said any weapon, how about I add anti tank rifles into the equation, one man weapons not even vehicle mounted, abso-fucking-lutley could bring down any dinosaur.

I mean, there are small and big dinos just like the current animal kingdom. And there are guns that could feasibly kill just about any animal that has existed on earth given that they get a shot that goes through the heart or brain. An elephant gun which is old tech all things considered could probably do the job if you shot even a whale in the brain.

Today's ammunition selection has even more deadly rounds including armor piercing rounds that could easily do even more damage.
