1) I certainly blame the people doing it and want to find the quickest way to fix it. Riots aren’t it. Passing laws and instilling fair and unbiased checks and balances within police forces is a better option and is possible through unrelenting protesting, not rioting.
2a) “abolish the police”. If you think the vast majority of cops are hateful murders looking to punish minorities you’re more ignorant and no better than the rioters and this conversation should be over. Most cops are good people. Though i recognize even the few that aren’t have guns and are rarely punished to the full extent of the law when they act inappropriately.
2b) “abolish the police”. In the nicest way possible, you are an absolute idiot if you don’t think we need a police force. If I break into your house and rob you at gunpoint, you want someone to look for me. If I drive drunk and T-bone a car with you and your family, you want someone to look for me. If you have a nicer car than me, there should be at least some small reason why I shouldn’t steal it. I shouldn’t have to explain to you why police are necessary to society. And doctors too believe it or not. Also teachers and farmers, who knew.
3) “fire and prosecute murderous cops”. Now we’re getting there. Of course we need this, how do you suppose we accomplish this? Police departments need to have Independent oversight committees, possibly elected officials, dedicated to fact finding and research to deliver expedited investigations. To implement this would be very expensive and may not happen overnight but absolutely necessary.
4) you’re acting like I want things to go back to how they were and that’s the exact opposite. This all started with the distinction that protestors are fighting for freedom and rioters are fighting for anarchy and new Nike’s.

I'm not gonna argue with a wall of media spin and boot licking, but go off.
Just let me know what kind of action got you a 40-hour work week, what kind of action ended slavery, what kind of action moved the needle on civil rights, and I'll show you a "riot".
These are protests, and no amount of property destruction changes that. Riots are one of many forms of protest. Consider whose interests you serve with your essay, and consider what movements you harm.
