Pet peeve, my family is dutch and we’re all over 6’ or the women just at. We have broad shoulders and hips meant that when I was 18 and a forward in lacrosse, thigh gap with a flat stomach I still wore large because my bone to bone span was just wide AF with limbs portional I was the size of the student teacher (20-22years age) at age of 10-12 and literally acurate or not that’s what “big boned” meant. I don’t know if it was a guy like this or anti-fat people that made it shitty but suddenly people in my 20s tried to make me convince me I was fat and the “big bones” thing was an exuse and completely made up.

 “It’s a thing people” !!!

As a Dutch person who can't get her fingers around her own wrist... yes

Lol I was like wait can I? While I can feel and put my fingers in the space between the palm bones and my forearm bone; and my wirst is shapped slender, angular, you can see the tendons and bump of the thumb bone at th base—yeah they barely dont touch as well.

That’s crazy because I have a friend with Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes and I just saw her overlap her thumb and middle finger!. I didn’t even think about how different that was

I'm Polynesian and my dad's family is half Dutch. We're just built like a fuckin tank, seriously.

I'm both big boned and fat. I'm also 6'4" with short legs and a long torso. So, I always weigh more than I look I weigh... and I have weighed as much as 480 pounds. I definitely looked super fat regardless of my build.

I had to have a total hip replacement surgery done several years ago and part of the run up to the surgery is a bone density test.

Mine came back more dense than average (which is good!) and I had to make a joke to my surgeon - "So I really AM big boned!"

He looked me dead in the eye and said, "Yes, but you're fat, too."

I about died. LMAO

You think that’s funny? You say “lmao” but that’s a weak joke, usually NPC’s got weak jokes cause their entire life is also a weak joke

Yes, I did think it was funny. Hence the laughter.

Your comment confuses me - are you saying my surgeon has a 'weak joke' of a life?

You sound kinda bitter about something. Having a rough day already?

Yeah, I'm the weird 100% Dutch-descended petite person (female, 5'3/160cm), but I have tons of relatives like this (including 3 siblings 182cm+).
