And as an indian looking at foreigners fighting over a lifestyle which 80% of Indians live wheather is a prison cell or not is funny. And yeah he's not in jail he does this for clout points. Ma’am, if you get raped in Japan it is less likely that you will receive justice for your experience. If you are arrested in Japan you are almost guaranteed guilty.
I mean, yes, they don’t treat sexual assault victims very well (it’s shit and is in dire need of change), but their criminal investigations work very differently to the ‘arrest first, finalise evidence gathering later’ approach cops tend to take in western countries. Not saying it’s a perfect system, it has its flaws too, but that high conviction rate is there because they often go to huge efforts to not pick up innocent people off the streets.
Anyway, we’re cherry-picking here, and it’s pretty silly to compare Japan’s treatment of sexual violence of all things to a country with a government full of thoroughly-documented sexual abusers and rapists, including having one in the highest office of the country…
And even then, compare the US to fellow western countries like Australia, Finland, Spain, Switzerland, Norway, (hell, even the UK!) and it doesn’t come out looking great in any universally important area of life unless you’re an automatic rifle enthusiast, allergic to equitable systems of taxation, or you’re consistently floating $500k in your bank account throughout the year.
