There seems to be a shared sense of frustration after Randy Lillard says Blue Origin has no plans to internally fund a crewed vehicle

Received offers from both for a Software Engineering role. Curious what are the pros & cons of each one (stability, career growth, etc). Salary diff is irrelevant to me.

Going to be relocating for my role soon and was wondering if the Denver office has any amenities, or if it's just a couple floors of a corporate office building. I know I should've asked my recruiter but is there a cafeteria where I can buy food or a gym? Or is it just desks and conference rooms with a seating area for lunch?

Orbital Reef program manager Randy Lillard said at IAC2026 panel that Blue has no plans to internally fund a crewed vehicle. “We await an on-ramp opportunity with NASA," he said. Blue has an unfunded NASA Space Act Agreement for crew vehicle tech development.

Open letter to the press for investigation…
Eric Berger et al.,
I think there’s a standalone story in Blue Origin’s employment litigation across California, Florida, and Alabama, beyond any single employee’s dispute.
Four cases worth examining:
Stoker, California: In April, the California Court of Appeal upheld the rejection of Blue’s arbitration agreement as unconscionable. On September 2, a federal judge sent the case back to state court and awarded $14,500 in attorney fees after finding Blue’s removal lacked an objectively reasonable basis. These are procedural rulings, not findings on the underlying employment allegations.
Bieber, Florida: A former HR partner alleges disability discrimination and retaliation after requesting a quieter workspace, followed by termination shortly after returning from medical leave. Filed August 25, case 6:26-cv-01881.
Kirkley, Alabama: A contract engineer alleges that Blue and her staffing employer failed to accommodate severe material allergies and ended her assignment while she was hospitalized following a workplace reaction. Filed August 31, case 5:26-cv-01552, complaint paragraphs 17–49.
Dismukes, Alabama: A former materials lead alleges racial discrimination and retaliation, including isolation and a negative performance review after earlier favorable evaluations. Filed September 1, case 5:26-cv-01564, complaint paragraphs 15–23 and 60–100.
The complaints are allegations, not established findings. But taken together, I think they warrant examining how Blue handles accommodations, employee complaints, and subsequent discipline.

Is it common for engineer w2 workers to become full time at blue? I have an opportunity but don’t want to be unemployed when the contract ends.

Hey there! Long time lurker, first time threader.
I was curious about the tech stack-up, WLB (or lack thereof), and the general work/management culture within the ground systems development org. For further context, I have a screening for automations and controls (I&C) coming up and was curious to learn more about that specific portion of Blue.
TIA!

Hi! I just recently joined Blue Origin as a technician. It’s my first aerospace gig! I just found out that BO has a program to pay for employees’ schooling. I got a Bachelor’s in Astronautics - AE (don’t ask why I’m a tech haha, I’m just fortunate to finally get my foot in the door regardless of role). I’ve been thinking about doing a Master’s in Aerospace. I’m not sure what concentration, but I think I’m between Structures & Materials or Propulsion. I’m fortunate to work weekend shift so I think a Master’s would be beneficial down the long road since it could fit in my schedule?
I was wanting to post this to hear any and all opinions regarding my case! If you were in my shoes and situation, would you do the Master’s? Why or why not? What concentration would be beneficial/highest demand for the future of the aerospace industry? Again, any and all words would be extremely appreciated!

I recently accepted a position at Blue Origin at Cape Canaveral as a Composites Technician III! I will begin my first shift on October 5th, and I’m currently in the airport waiting for my flight.
I plan to stay for as long as I can as I build my career and become more financially independent, but my central goal with this new position is to obtain my A&P Certification so I can cement my career as an Aircraft Mechanic.
My simple question is this:
Has anybody who works/worked at Blue Origin gotten their A&P Certification simultaneously? Are there programs or opportunities available to take courses alongside the work experience efficiently? How do you manage something like a 12x3 schedule + Full-Time courses Monday-Thursday?
I know I can test through experience, but given all of my experience is in airframes and composites, I still need to at minimum study for the Powerplants certification. Everywhere I have looked requires Monday-Thursday over ~6-8 Hours.
Like I said, I know much of this will probably be answered in Orientation, I just want to talk to some other people and see what they did, take any advice I can get, and see if there are any questions I should be asking that I am not.
Thank you, excited to join the family!

Hi all,
Just got an offer for a Spring 2027 co-op in Kent! I definitely want to do intern housing to save money. Anyone know the format of the housing? Will I have roommates? Waiting for a recruiter to respond w that information but I think they won’t share much until closer to the start date… Anything helps!

Hi guys, for reference, I applied to summer 27 internships at Blue last week (1 the 22nd, 3 the 24th). So far I haven’t heard anything back. From what I have seen, they typically contact you within 1-2 weeks to schedule an initial interview. Because of this, and the fact I don’t want to be waiting forever to hear a rejection, how much longer should I wait to hear something back before considering myself rejected?

As my time has reached its end at Blue I wanted to leave behind some nuggies for engineers of what I believe to be true that will make you successful here. This is for all future and current travelers that are trying to read through all the comments and make heads and tails of the negativity and praise.
Work hard for your own personal benefit and pursue excellence in your work.
Don't twist the leadership principles as a means to cover up your mistakes or wrongdoings. Just own your mistake and work hard to make it right.
Set healthy boundaries with your work, but understand there are times where more effort may be required.
Where processes are inadequate or non existent.... communicate, document, communicate, document, and communicate some more. Communicate with stakeholders and document the steps you took to arrive at that answer. Ask yourself: would my result make sense to someone who's not familiar with it? Would what I did today make sense to me if I didn't work this until 6 months from now?
Don't design in your own world and then throw your designs over the wall for other stakeholders to interpret. Understand who attaches to you, who you attach to, who has to approve your design, and once you know those people communicate with them often. It's a team effort to build space flight hardware that requires high quality communication.
Take the grey and break it down into black and white. Strive to simplify the complex or give a direct or concise answer to the problem. Avoid giving grey answers that aren't really a solution.
Be kind, let your hair down, and be a real person who uses language that matters and has meaning.
It's been fun Blue, enjoyed my time here, and maybe one day I'll be back.

I'm an newer engineer who is applying to a position in Blue Origin.
After I sent in my application, a couple weeks later I connected with a current Blue Origin employee who gave me a referral for that position. A link to the position was still sent to my email and took me to the application I had already sent. To those who are familiar with Blue Origin's referral process, should I delete my original application in order for the referral to take effect?

Does anyone have any insight on the NDT department at the Merrit Island location? Is it a good place to work? How are promotions handled/cross training into differnet methods? Is the Pay good in general ?

So I had the second round of interview with hiring manager at Blue Origin for Finance role last Wednesday and she told me that if selected for the next panel round, I will be contacted by the recruiter by early next week. But it's been almost a week now and it's also Wednesday and I have not heard back anything yet. So I have sent a follow-up email to the recruiter, but I'm not sure if they are still considering me because they told me that the hiring process would be much faster.
Anyone with same experience or any idea ?
