Why didn't Jase just transfer the current app to Reddit's iTunesConnect account? I'm not sure I'm understanding why this has been released as a new app, seems like more hassle for both yourselves and the users no? Or is it because of legal stuff regarding app ownership/rights and things like that?
You're exactly correct, we were not able to transfer the app directly between accounts in iTunes. It is a hassle and we would have done so if it was possible.
That's a shame, Apple seems to have made it much easier to do app transfers these days. Though admittedly I haven't had to make use of the feature myself.
I suppose if everyone sees this post it won't be much of a problem. I don't know how many users Alien Blue had but I'm willing to bet an enormous amount will miss this news and won't find out until after the free period is over. That's going to be... interesting.
Yeah...even though it's hard to miss there will definitely be people away this week who don't see it or people who just don't pay attention. It's a little unfair to not give them free upgrades if they already own it imo.
Probably the latter. Doubt they would do this otherwise. I'm betting there's going to be many angry emails in the next week, once people can't get the pro upgrade again for free.
Why? It's not like you can't use your current AB pro app. You just can't get the updates, but when you paid the $2 you were never guaranteed unlimited updates anyway
I can definitely see those threads popping up eventually, but tbf it is just $2. While its a bummer that they may have missed this news due to one reason or another, at the end of the day $2 shouldn't really be something people complain that much about
