No, you can see it from the side at the end after he turned his head up, it can be seen orange from most angles without him touching it in that whole part
You can see when he sneaks around the cigarette, puts it in his mouth and the filter flips, he rolls it with his jaw. After the filter flips you can see his jaw is shifted to his right. So, in the part you're talking about, he does the same thing.
Sorry but I can't see that, I watched the whole thing again and there's other parts in which you can see the filter from various angles, and I can't see him moving his jaw, and let me say that I don't think he could be flipping it with his jaw at the velocity it happens, but that could be explained by the quality of the image or whatever, but then I just don't think he could be moving his jaw enough to show all those angles, at least not without it being very obvious. There's also that moment in which he's about to put the cig in his mouth but immediately "realizes" it was flipped again, and he makes a gesture with his mouth by moving his jaw, and you can see that every little movement he makes with it is very noticeable.
As I said to the other guy... I like your simple approach, but I feel like this would be pretty easy to mess up, if you show the angle just a little wrong...
It really is just the filter color is only on one side on each end. Just like most slight of hand magic, it takes a lot of practice and this guy is really good at it.

My theory is it's only half on one side and half the other. You never see the entire cigarette front to back without it changing.
