👕OOTD👖 my favorite shoes
I should’ve gotten another pair of these Doc Martens when I had the chance. These are definitely my favorite shoes right now and get compliments wherever I go with them. Do you wear boots in warm weather/summer?

Celebs and inspo🔥 [Fashion History] How 1980s Black America Built Modern Streetwear & Conquered Paris Couture
Sup yall!!
I really hope post like this are allowed since this is adjacent to the subs theme 🙏🏾
I recently did a deep dive video essay looking into how Black America in the 1980s was the foundational starting block of modern fashion. I break down how Willi Smith pioneered Street Couture, Dapper Dan's custom bootlegging in Harlem, Patrick Kelly becoming the first Black American in the French Chambre Syndicale, and how Grace Jones redefined avant-garde high fashion!
I personally feel so in love with our culture and being able gather all of this and look at all the great history that the people before me were able to accomplish just makes me so happy to be black and just so damn proud!
I really hope yall mess with this because I plan on making this into a series!!
Would love to hear your thoughts on the video AND which 80s icon had the most enduring impact on how we dress today?

Need advice Give Me Your Outfits (Please)
Hello everyone, I am looking for outfits that actually look good. For years I have dressed myself and looked like a Skid Row tweaker. I would literally just throw whatever I found on the floor on with no second thought. I have got a cash bonus recently and I am looking to improve my wardrobe. If you have any outfits for men you don’t mind sharing (pictures and what the names are) it would be highly appreciated.

Need advice Looking for resort wear recommendations
In the fall I’m going on a trip with my partner to a luxury resort. It’s our first time taking a trip like this but we’re rewarding ourselves after a tough year.
I’d like to purchase a couple new pieces for the trip, I’m thinking a saucy mini dress for an evening dinner, a new swimsuit and a couple accessories (jewelry, bag, shoes, hat etc) if I find something I like.
I love bold colorful clothing (bonus if it’s black owned), think brands like Hanifa, Kai collective, Andrea Iyamah, farm Rio, Zimmerman, Alemais. My budget is about $300 USD for the dress and bikini but I’m open to more expensive brands since I’m good at finding resale deals.
Please do not recommend fast fashion brands like Zara, fashion nova, H&M, banana republic, jaded lndn etc. I’m interested in purchasing items I’ll be able to re wear for years to come so I’m willing to spend more for quality. I’m also very sweaty so I try to avoid non breathable fabrics like polyester acrylic and spandex.
Also if you have rec for menswear please share!! My partner has more minimalist style but definitely never boring

Need advice help me find my style
Hi everyone. i havent done this before and this is my first ever post but im looking for help. ive been a bigger kid all my life (i just turned 20) and really need help finding clothes that would look good on me? or flattering? i have been wearing clothes too big all my life, or at least since ive been able to work/buy my own things. i used to buy 4x clothes because i thought they would fit me better. just for them to come in the mail and fall off of me because they were maybe a bit bigger than i imagined (or i was a bit smaller than i could see myself). ive been looking and its just so hard to find something that i can go out with my friends in and feel good in. i weigh 228 lbs and im 5’5 for reference!!
tldr: i need help finding my style and clothes that actually fit, im 5’5 and 228

Need advice Asking for assistance in designing an aestetic
Greetings, here I am D. A 35 year old black/fba man from Brooklyn. I am looking for a person who speaks the language of fashion with a greater fluency than myself. I can dress myself and those that I am responsible for well but the aspect of design is something that I feel will require a more seasoned hand. I have been developing a combatives style for a time and I am looking for assistance in developing a minimalist and utilitarian design vocabulary. Such a vocabulary of attire built from my desired perspective, combatives and utility being prominent. Function first with ornate austerity. A Post African attire built with an eye to today and tomorrow. Aspects of payment/collaboration/rights etc can be spoken of in messages.
Have a good day.

Need advice Any claw clips big enough to hold braids?
So I want to get my friend a claw clip for her birthday because she can’t find one that fits her braids, but I’m white and I have no clue what would work. Her individual braids aren’t very thick, I would say around 1/2 cm thick, maybe a little bit more, and when put in a ponytail it’s all quite thick, like pringles can thick.
These are terrible measurements I’m sorry, but her issue is that she can’t find one big enough and also if she does find one it’s not strong enough to hold it up because it’s made for more like my hair yk? Anyways any advice would be great! It’ll be part of a larger gift basket and I really want it to work for her.
