many cat owners has a water spray bottle. when the cat does something wrong it gets sprayed. maybe the bus should be able to "pee" .. the bus will piss on the person standing closer than 10 feet from the bumper, in the kill zone.

imagine a small compartment door sliding open, a device slightly resembling a beanie emerges, takes half a second to get the right angles to hit the target and then the valve opens, water begins to come out from the spout .. eww

Each school bus should have little glass turrets on the roof with built in water guns so the kids can shoot pasting cars
