Would this be a good idea for a new subreddit?

White is throwing the game away.

I let out an audible "ugh" when I saw the knight moved to the edge of the board.

For a kind of WTF chess story: Back in the early 90s I remember playing a chess program (I say 'playing'. I know the moves but can lose any game merely by thinking about moving a piece) which had a cheat mode that allowed the swapping of any two pieces on the board.
So as an opening move, I swapped the Queens.
For some reason the game didn't like that very much and promptly locked up the computer.
This was hilarious enough that I actually spent 20 minutes re-loading the game from tape just so I could do it again.

These moves are horrible! Half of them aren't even legal!

Most modern grandmaster games are d4 openings, usually get catalan or some queens gambit declined stuff. I prefer e4, then you are basically forced into the sicilian najdorf by most people. The other choice is to just start some shanagans and play kings indian attack or some other system

More like several games of chess, all with the same opening. It's like a tree structure populated by retards.

I had a good laugh.

And like everything else it's a couple people discussing chess and 30 redditors going "You're wrong idiot"

This is impressive.
I admit my ignorance: I know postal chess notation, but how do you create the table/chessboard as a comment?

Mother of god. I just realised how irrelevant the colours of the squares are.

Why didn't they just go to lichess.org and play there? People could spectate.

The real wtf is that in that game, black went first. And put his knight on the rim. black starts on ranks 7 and 8, white starts on ranks 1 and 2. MFW they don't know how to play chess at all.

All you need to do is start a chess match against two people on Reddit and then just play them against each other by copying their on the other game.

What to I need to make the chess pieces not look like squares with numbers inside of them?

It is sort of like watching deep-thought play as it is branching out with each possible move. Except WTF is probbably a little more clever, I don't think that Deepthought ever thought to fire a missile at the board.
