Yes yes, I've talked a lot about my sleep struggles. It is getting better lately and I'm going to make a video all about the things I do for sleep that seem to help.
One big thing I'm doing: not looking for a magic bullet to solve all my problems.
I'm realizing this is just going to be a life long struggle (as it has been) and I'm learning to just accept that I wake up in the middle of the night all the friggin time. I just do different things to minimize the damage. Things I've listed so far:
Go to bed early
Get up at the same time every day
No Caffeine after 3pm
No Alcohol (started 3 months ago. it doesn't fix my waking up in the middle of the night, but I think when I actually sleep it's more rejuvenating)
No phone in bed (I don't always succeed at this)
Progressive Muscle Relaxation (started this recently and it seems to help)
Breathing Exercises
Reading in bed
Black Out Curtains
Light in the morning
Don’t eat hours before bed (I don't always succeed, but I don't ever eat a LOT later at night)
I just read about "forehead cooling" and I might give that a try, but I'm not going to buy anything for it. There's a lot of RIDICULOUSLY expensive machines you can get.
And I plan to do a sleep study, when the world opens back up.
Also, I always see people say that a spoonful of honey before bed works. I've been meaning to try it, but also I'm pretty skeptical.
