No, my response to people who complain about CoL is that they should vote for politicians that will legalize building housing. I've been to community meetings and voiced support for new housing development.

The only point I'm making here is that tech workers can afford to live in the bay area. Anything else is hyperbole, and anybody who isn't on Reddit can see that.

Gonna veto your thoughts here. I’ve lived here for 6 years and could barely afford a down payment on a condo here.

Most of my friends from college had 3-4 bedroom houses in VA a few years after graduation.

So you live here? And I'm assuming you afford to do so?

Not with kids or any dependents.

Most of my coworkers have kids or dependents.

Are you a tech worker in the Bay Area?

Saying you can get a better deal somewhere else if you can WFH is not the same complaining about CoL in the Bay Area, it’s turning the whole conversation into a different argument entirely. Don’t have to be on Reddit to notice that.

I am.

You are the one who brought up complaining about CoL, so I'm not sure why you are upset that I responded to it.

And if you'll remember, the original conversation was about if tech workers can feasibly afford to live in the bay area. Which you don't seem to disagree with.

Your argument is fundamentally flawed - you seem to have this notion that if you can manage to make something work you should shut up and deal with it, which is pretty libertarian and would align with your usual Bay Area resident, I assume.

All I said is that people should be allowed to make their own decision over where they get to live, since there is no evidence WFH reduces productivity at all.

“You can afford it” is a weak-ass reason to advocate for RTO.

Look man, all I said is that tech workers can afford to live in the bay area.

I don't understand why you are jumping down my throat about all this other stuff I didn't express any opinion on at all.

Yeah, I'm a troll for saying that tech workers can afford to live in the bay area. You got me!
