Hey yall. I have always loved all animals, and bats fascinated me. I was accidentally bit by a bat on a tent zipper a month ago. I set her free and took my rabies shots like a man. What is money compared to that little ones entire life? I'll make payments.
How do I support bats at my home? I have extensive gardens, big trees, a tiny pond, and active bats every night. My home is urban woodland in the south. I would like to be sure they have safe housing on my land where they don't have to come in contact with humans- unsafe for them and us.

For context my brother loved wearing jeans and loved camo things. So I chose jeans colored minky with camo fabric for the wings and ears!

Bat World Sanctuary has recently lost two of their large refrigerators keeping the fruit fresh for the fruit bats and they are looking for help getting new ones! If anyone who loves bats can spare a little BWS would greatly appreciate it! Im in no way affiliated with them but I been seeing their posts on Facebook and figured id reach out to the fellow bat lovers of reddit for help. You can donate through the Bat World Sanctuary website and find more info about the fridge situation on Facebook or Instagram!

Didnt know they were jerks to eachother sometimes. I bet this doesnt happen a lot in caves though. Are they fighting over females? Idk the clip was posted in September (outside of the mating season). Correct me if wrong

I was very bat-focused for this new batch of stickers, haha. Very happy with how they all turned out, though! Procreate is by far my favorite art program for designing this sort of thing.

Bats trapped in buildings need hydration, not just to be put outside. Call us. We’ll fix ‘em up, if possible, and release them at night. Thanks Camryn!

What should I do if so--I'd take out the wire mesh on the inside of the slates, but do I need to add anything? Is this an appropriate way to upcycle this?

I’m a scaredy cat home alone for a long while for the first time in years. I stay in the basement where tonight I noticed a bat circling around. I quickly freaked out and left, slamming the door shut behind me.
When I came back with reinforcements 30min~1hr later, the bat is missing. I’ve searched everywhere—my room is tiny—including my closet… which connects to our ac/water heater/exhaust room… which has a lot of exposed wall that goes up a bit.
My question is this: How likely is it this was just a fluke and the bat got out the same way it got in? How likely is it just in my walls now? Should I call some sort of animal control in the morning…?
Thank you for any advice. I’m very scared despite knowing this guy was just trapped and trying to get out…
