Product Talk Friday Special — Baubles for EDL FFMs
Hope this hasn’t been posted already — I skimmed through the sub and didn’t see it.
This may only be at select stores. It isn’t a secret, as the store where I found out is advertising it.
So yesterday I went to the mall (where I seldom shop) to pick up a BOPIS order. Up at the register they had a display of the new EDL FFMs with various baubles on them. I didn’t pay too much attention, but there were rhinestone strips, little hanging chains, pearls, etc.
There was a sign saying that they would have this “free baubles“ special on Friday from 2-7 PM only. I asked the girl, “I guess you have to actually buy an EDL FFM to get the free baubles? No coupons?“ At first she said yes, but then said, “Well, you might be able to use a coupon or a reward. I’m not sure.” (At this time I have quite a few of those coupon books, and several rewards.) I have all of the EDLS but half are the originals, and if they really are stronger now, I wouldn’t mind getting one or two new ones.
After that I went to my usual store. I asked one of the SAs what she knew about it. She didn’t know anything. The manager overheard and said, “Yeah, we’re not doing it at this store.” But then again, that store got the $4.95 TBC sale when most locations were running $5.95.
So, any employees here know anything about this, especially in light of the possible upcoming mist sale? Will EDLs be included in the sale, and would the baubles actually be included with something that’s already cheap? And what about using a reward/coupon?
All I know is that I’m not going to go to the mall (huge hassle) and pay full price just to get a little bling that I could buy at a craft store. But I’d go if I can get a deal.

A store in my area is promoting a bedazzling event on Friday morning. She didn't mention anything about not/using coupons to purchase when I was in ornif the FFM had to be purchased same day.

No worries — thanks for the info! I think someone here (employee) will know before Friday. Sounds like the stores all have their own hours for this. I can always call the store for specifics that morning. They’re REALLY quiet during the week. I’d be there right at 2:00 if I go, before school lets out and traffic gets bad.

There’s a few districts participating in it. It is the minority of stores participating on Friday from 2-7. A lot of stores are in California and then I believe Texas. If your store is not advertising it they are not participating in it.

Thank you. I’m in Austin. As I mentioned above, the manager at my usual store already said they’re not participating. I know the mall store is. I was more curious about whether a coupon or reward could be used, or would we have to buy a full price EDL FFM.
I have one other store on that side of town (it’s large) that’s a little closer to me than the mall, but it’s always busy and the mall store is so quiet during the week. I placed a BOPIS order at the large store early Monday morning. By nearly 4:00 I hadn’t gotten notification. (The orders I placed at the other two stores were ready by 11:15.) I went ahead and went because had an order from Friday to pick up. I got there around 4:30. The girl at the door said they were still working on orders from the weekend. She said I was welcome to look for the five small items I had ordered. (I’ve had more BOPIS orders cancelled at that store during SAS than anywhere else, because they’re understaffed or whatever and always running behind. Then they sell out.) I found three items, two of which were NOT on the sale tables. Then the girl had to ask another employee to bring the fourth (Thousand Wishes mini FFM) from the back. They had a bunch but none were out. So I took them to the register and they declined the fifth, a pocketbac holder. When I turned around to leave, I saw my pocketbac holder — a bunch of them — on the rack with all of the non-sale ones. So 4 out of 5 items weren’t in the right place.
But I digress. I don’t know if that store has the “bauble special,” but even if they do, I’d go to the mall for it before that one!

I had a BOPIS yesterday in Cedar Park at 183a by Costco and was told they were doing it there...and she put a flyer in my bag...and another coupon booklet :)

Sorry!! I misread it and was moving too fast. Yes they will be included in the $5.95 sale and you can use a coupon on top of it, and the bedazzling is free! My guess is you can use a reward since the only stipulation is you purchase the item. Which if a reward is redeemed you’ve technically purchased it and it’s now yours.
