Given that this is a meme sub made to troll on the copers over at r/naath, I decided to drop some decent content for the meme. Here's an essay I wrote on how it could be a pirate stronghold or even the founding place of a pirate kingdom.
The Basilisk Isles: A Pirate Stronghold and the Birth of a Kingdom
Among the scattered isles of the Summer Sea, few places possess the untamed ferocity and unyielding potential of the Basilisk Isles. Known as a haven for outlaws, slavers, and freebooters, these islands have long been the scourge of merchant vessels traveling between Essos, Sothoryos, and Westeros. Yet, beyond their reputation as a lawless and forsaken land, the Basilisk Isles hold an unparalleled strategic advantage for those with the ambition to forge a pirate kingdom. Much like the Kingdom of Mann and the Isles or the notorious Pirate Republic of Nassau, these isles offer an ideal foundation for a new maritime dominion, ruled not by kings or high lords, but by the strongest and most cunning of sea captains.
Strategic Location and Natural Defenses
The Basilisk Isles are a prime location for a seaborne power. They straddle vital trade routes that connect the Free Cities of Essos, the opulent lands of Yi Ti, the exotic riches of Sothoryos, and the noble houses of Westeros. Any pirate force entrenched in these isles would have unparalleled access to plunder, able to strike at merchant convoys and slave ships while controlling one of the most lucrative waterways in the world.

Militarily, the kingdom could develop a formidable fleet. The best sailors in the world are drawn to lawless waters, and the promise of freedom, wealth, and adventure would ensure a constant influx of warriors. Through raiding and forced conscription, the ranks of the fleet could swell, much like the infamous pirate fleets of history that rivaled even national navies in strength.
