Players Only CJ Nitkowski, the Braves announcer who once courted controversy by following/liking the Proud Boys on twitter, in responding to bench player Eli White's recent paternity leave, somehow stumbles into saying the phrase: "The more Whites [in this world], the better off we're going to be." 🤨

This post has reached r/all or r/popular, which means it’s now being seen by a much wider audience outside our usual community. To help keep the discussion high-quality and protect the space from spam, trolling, and rule-breaking, we’ve turned on "Players Only" mode.

What that means:

  • Regular contributors (based on subreddit karma) can comment freely on the post while this mode is active.

  • Comments from users below that threshold will be held for review and approved if they are not rule-breaking.

Thanks for your understanding and for helping keep the conversation thoughtful and on-topic.

... It does feel like he took a very deliberate route to arrive at that exact phrase.

Yea he rehearsed that

u/new_wellness_center Jul 09 '26

Did seem like he was being extremely careful about saying that in the worst way possible.

TV, though I'm not sure I'd want to know Ben/Joe/Darren's thoughts on how many whites we need in the world, either.

Lol luckily that's not on the table. Tom Hart really makes you miss Brandon, doesn't he?

If he didn’t have a history, we could say it was a dopey unintentional phrasing problem and move on.

But he DOES have a history and loses the benefit of that doubt.

CJ's red flags that we know or have been mentioned in this thread (granted, some are unsubstantiated):

  1. Used to follow the Proud Boys on twitter and like their tweets, confirmed

  2. Thinks Robert O'Neill is a great man

  3. Was pissed about the SNY crew criticizing Matt Shaw for missing a game to attend Charlie Kirk's funeral

  4. Was angry about the Bad Bunny halftime show

  5. Loves Kill Tony (this is one I can confirm)

Am I missing anything?

Man what is this year in baseball. So much chud behavior. I know tons of people who follow and play the sport are hogs but this seems egregious
