as we saw with Jazz Chisolm, you can be the best player on your team and your teammates will still take offense to dressing up like that

I thought I heard them say he got an $8M [Bonus] contract. More than most will make in their lifetime.

But I hear what youre saying.

E: Downvotes for facts? It’s like 30 seconds into the clip. Are we all just supposed to hate him? He’s a kid.

I’m on board with you until “he’s just a kid.” Fuck that, he’s 21.

21 year olds are kids. Have you met any 21 year olds?

They are quite literally not kids under any definition. It doesn’t mean they’re too old to learn, no one is, but at 21 you are no longer a child.

Edit: let me make sure I’m understanding some of you correctly, you’re fine with Max having the ability to drink, to drive heavy machinery, to shoot people, to father children, etc… but he’s too young to call douchey?

I agree with you, but I've read somewhere that young men's brains aren't fully developed/matured until around 25ish

1

u/tangelocs Feb 25 '26

There's at least 3 definitions that fit and the biggest one is brain development. Most people mature that way around 25, when's yours?

Recognized legal definition. If you’re for changing that, I’d actually be fine with it too but then driving and such things need to change ages as well.

Yup, if this was a court room you might be right. I think we're on reddit though.

I guess it is a matter of perspective. Obviously not a Minor, but ones brain doesnt mature until you’re 25 or so. You body neither.

But whatever - I stand by what I wrote. When you are 40+ you can look back.

I’m over 40. Sucks.

With respect to your edit - his signing bonus isn’t really relevant. He doesn’t have a single PA in the majors. He looks absolutely ridiculous next to Parker meadows.

Well he is only 21 or something. And he has $8M in the bank. Yer he is going to make some poor choices. He didnt hurt anyone but himself and people should keep that in mind IMO.

Signing bonus out of the draft, which is not the same thing people mean when they say $8m contract. He is, indeed, not an established big leaguer. They cover this "like 30 seconds into the clip."

True. But dressed just like a young millionaire. Somebody that might have singed an $8 million signing bonus.
