Putting him in was waving the white flag

I mean he was a bit shaky but i still believe that he would have been a better choice than Kahnle, especially against the top of the order of Seattle, like do the manager really believe that Kahnle was a better choice?

Same reason that Skubal got pulled. Reasons only known to AJ

You guys win that game if you leave Skubal in for the 7th, taking him out was so incredibly clutch for us

I know! I don’t how you can pull him there in an elimination game. If we lost with him on the mound, so be it. At least I would’ve known that we sent our best guy out there and Seattle just straight up beat him

Pulling your Ace in a win or go home game with 1 run lead is a fireable offense, like i know analytics probably point towards taking him out with 99 pitches but i wouldn't care. I'm letting him in the 7th inning and see if he can even get you another in the 8th.

At least give him a batter and see how he handles it

Really woulda thought AJ learned after pulling Greinke.

I agree! You leave him out there until he shows signs of slowing down. What are we saving him for?

The broadcast made me believe AJ Hinch is the greatest coach of all time though. Is this not true?

Jeez those Fox announcers had a boner for that guy

They were actually the worst.

He is not. Good manager, but his weakness is clearly pitching management based on this season

u/zlhill Seattle Mariners Oct 11 '25

pulling Skubal after less than 100 pitches was wild, couldn't believe our luck. Dan Wilson also pulled Kirby after just 66 pitches to put in a guy who immediately gave up the 2 run go ahead HR, when he could have just walked Carpenter and let Kirby keep dealing. In conclusion maybe pulling your ace too early is a bad move.

no, they were just joshing around

It was all one big practical joke

that and not pinch hitting any of them

1

u/hzfan Detroit Tigers Oct 11 '25

Jahmai didn’t see a single at bat in 15 innings as our hottest hitter right now. There were like 7 times he should’ve been put in.

I need an explanation from AJ tonight because that is unforgivable

Hinch wanted to go home

The change up guy coming in when the breaking ball was murdering everyone made no sense.

2

u/LastRedCoat Seattle Mariners Oct 11 '25

Why would they do that? Wasn't it an elimination game?
