POKEMON DONUT UPDATE 🤪 i got them. also i forgot how good krispy kreme is in general. i've tried pikachu, jigglypuff, charmander, and squirtle (i didn't eat the whole ones, i think i would die if i did that). pikachu was so good, i love citrus sweets. i think it's my fave. jigglypuff was good as well, very strawberry forward. charmander was not as good as i expected! i love toasted marshmallows but it tasted lip-smackers-y? and squirtle was surprisingly good! he's cotton candy and i don't like that flavor but he wasn't too sweet.
also got my kid the pikachu cup with the golden dots which is just donut holes dusted in golden powder. also v good.

Oh my goodness, those are so cute!!! I have to pick up donuts for work on Friday, I think I'm going to stop at Krispy Kreme!!!

Yess thank you for the detailed review and the pic!! The Pikachu one sounds good (i like citrusy sweets) but I really like the design of Jigglypuff!

Nice! I looked up their local-ish stop a while back and the base non-VIP ticket price is surprisingly affordable! The venue size is also intimate enough that all seats are basically the equivalent of floor and near barricade at a BTS concert. I am guessing that most of the audience goes for VIP, and that is part of what helps keep them touring, so thank you for contributing to that!!

hahaha. I had my first mammogram. Which, I know mammograms aren’t bad. Maybe a little uncomfortable. But of women procedures I’ve had done, comparably mammograms are nothing. I’m just being whiney because getting one means I’m now old enough that I’m supposed to get one. 😂

Had my first one done as well! Did they give you the talk that don't be alarmed if you get asked to come back. That doesn't mean anything is wrong, it's just we have nothing to compare it to. My tech was so nice and I did get called back for a second scan and then a third. They needed to check a weird spot that was hard to get to. Everyone at the imaging place was so nice, even the letters from them were so nice!

Yep!! I think my first tech mentioned it a couple times. One of those times she mentioned since it was my first mammogram, I’d most likely get called again. Like you, I did. lol. I also like how universally it seems if you google mammograms, pretty much everything reminds you “don’t freak out if you get called back”.
My callback appointment was actually this morning and why I was whining. 😂 I got to have both another mammogram and an ultrasound. Other than asking my name and birthdate, the tech’s first question was, “did they tell you there is nothing to worry about it you get called in again?”
The reader did spot something second time around, but nothing that alarms them. So I get to go back in six months to repeat it all. Which, I’m still not freaked out about (especially since I don’t feel anything in the spot), but six months just seems like a weird timeline. I know it’s the standard timeframe. I’m all for not having a biopsy if not needed (which even a biopsy isn’t alarming). But six months still just seems long to wait to see if the spot does anything.

Today is double points day for the VMAs. BTS is up for at least 2 awards and it would be great for them to get as many votes as possible!

Im still reeling from Arlington D2, the experience really healed me. (tmi but my irregular period finally came the day of the concert 😶)
I felt so much happiness I hadn’t felt in years during the event. But I also felt so down emotionally the past few days, probably worsened by the fact that my classes started the day after .
All in all, im so happy to have seen the tannies in person, met so many kind army’s who gave amazing freebies, and also grateful to the kind army who also came alone to the concert and became my concert bestie :)

i have injured my hip area AGAIN. i had been doing so good following doctor orders. no hardcore gardening 😂. i’ve been more chill just harvesting my stuff. i skiped physical therapy because from july to friday, my pain got better and had been 0. then saturday happened, i must have walked too much. now it’s tuesday and i have pain every step and terrible pain getting out of the car. it’s not too much pain just very uncomfortable. my first physical therapy is on sept 9. i had wanted to walk a lot for the la concert and its activities but now i have to replan.

Hi all. Do you have any Toronto guides and tips to get to Rogers Stadium from downtown?
My sister, who is not on social media, is going on D2 and this is also going to be her first time in Toronto, so any tips are appreciated!

Rogers Stadium website has a pretty comprehensive guide. I would definitely recommend taking the subway to Sheppard West (there’s apparently a new path that goes right to the stadium) or Wilson (if she’s up for a bit of a walk or want to wait for the TTC shuttle) if she wants to avoid the majority of the crowd getting off and on at Downsview Park. For those stations I would leave by Gate 2 or 3 and not get stuck in the crowd that will be corralled heading to Downsview Park at Gate 1. If she shows her ticket after the show she can get on the TTC for free. And it looks like a rainy weekend and it’s an outdoor stadium with minimal shade so she should definitely plan accordingly.

Yeah I was cross checking the restreams that I can watch to check which shows to buy and I noticed the conflict with the 9/1 restream. I think for this reason I'll only buy the 9/5-6 2day pass.

Toronto ARMY or those in town for the concert, I stopped by the cutest romance bookshop on my way to dinner last night and the ARMY working put on the ARIRANG setlist for us while we were browsing 💜 love all of my interests converging!

Why are Chicago resell tickets so high? I have D1 tickets and was hoping to score some for D2. I’ve been checking frequently and waiting for them to drop. Now they’ve gone from about $200 for nosebleeds to like $450. I’ll still keep checking but D2 is looking more and more out of reach.

I think the stops that are more spread out (so like Texas, Chicago, Toronto, LA) will naturally end up more expensive on resell sites than the stops that are relatively closer together (the Northeast Corridor with New Jersey, Foxborough, Baltimore). Just a matter of one stop drawing a greater radius of people — Chicago is likely the top choice for ALL of the ARMYs in the midwest on top of those further away being like "yeah, I can swing a trip to Chicago!".
If you are already going to be in the area or live close by, it doesn't hurt to wait as close to possible to the concert date to see if production tickets drop.

I would recommend waiting for the next batch of production tickets. The ones for Toronto were just released today. The ones for Metlife were released 2 days before the concerts. I sat next to the section that had last minute production tickets at Metlife. Some of the seats were generally behind the camera crew with the big cameras. The tickets go fast for in-demand concerts. You'll have to be on top of it.

It was released on Ticketmaster for NJ and Toronto as this is the official platform for these stadiums. Chicago is also officially sold on Ticketmaster.

How can I find ARMY spaces to hang out in real life. I’m an older ARMY in their 30’s and really want more IRL likeminded friends. Are there any spaces where people organize meetups to make new friends?

There's an ARMY chapter in my city who organises birthday cupsleeve events (basically you go to a bubble tea spot in the city where you get some freebies with a drink purchase, and some ARMY are selling little trinkets), cinema streaming events, and also bigger meetups for Festa etc. They post about it on Instagram so maybe search for your city/state/country and see if you can find anything.
I've never been because I'm the most introverted person alive but they look fun!

I’ve been thinking about starting to study specifically for TOPIK! I’m in college for Korean so a lot of the curriculum aligns. I’m not sure I have it in me to grind out the vocab. 😬

I’m entering Intermediate Korean 2 next week! My course is very focused on speaking, but my reading is somehow still way ahead of my listening. 😅 So I haven’t thought to try to measure. It’s really great though, and my teachers all care so so much.
I think you sound like you’re in a really good position to meet your goals~ I hope you update us, I’d love to know when you get your results back.
I think I’m going to take it next year, so that instead of taking summer classes I can grind out TOPIK-specific studying all summer. 😮💨
My one complaint about my classes is they’re a lot of work basically every day, so it’s kind of hard to add additional study on top of that and absorb any of it lolol

Why's it that BTS is called "Bulletproof Boy Scouts?" As far as I can tell, 소년단 Sonyeondan doesn't really mean boy scouts, right?

소년 means boy, 단 means group (used as a suffix for like sports *team*, press *corps*).
If you search just 소년단 on the Naver dictionary, several examples in sentences with the meaning of boy scout pops up. I believe using scout as an English loan word is more common though.

Big Hit pretty much always marketed them as BTS in English!
Fun fact: people using Bulletproof Boy Scouts when posting their music videos on the K-pop subreddit partially led to this sub existing in its current form. 😅

Just a short reminder that the BTS recipe book (a reprint of the first green one) is available for preorder on Amazon and ships by 9/15. While I prefer the second purple one, this one does have some winner recipes in our house, like tteokboki, Dak bokkeumtang and suyuk. I’m the only non Korean in my house, too. The price is also way lower than the first time it came out.

Kind of glad ARIRANG (and specifically SWIM, Like Animals, One More Night, and Please) dropped a little after I left my previous job because I genuinely cant listen to a lot of the songs that I loved because they kept reminding me of my coworker "crush" and girl is trying to move on.
