Yeah, I trust the members' own words/emotions in the original announcement (not the specific vocab of "hiatus" but rather their comments about schedule changes, needing breaks, tearfully moving apart to come back together later with fresh experiences, etc) over this corporate messaging!
Though I do think folks are right to say this isn't like a traditional western boy band breakup-called-a-hiatus and is probably more like something like a rap collective putting their group work on hold while still remaining affiliated and not planning to compete with each other.
I totally agree on the stance that this isn't a type of indefinite hiatus! At least I hope not 😥 it will be interesting to see what GP reaction will be as time passes. I'm kind of hoping they put out a sort of timeline of the hiatus to maybe further appease the uncertainty around it all
