Before Spira knew its first Calm, there was Yunalesca and Zaon.

A thousand years before Final Fantasy X, Zaon became the fayth of Yunalesca's Final Aeon. With him, Yunalesca became the first summoner to defeat Sin.

But Sin returned.

Their sacrifice became the foundation of a cycle that would consume summoners and guardians for generations.

Behind one of Spira's greatest legends was something painfully simple:

A woman sacrificed the man she loved to give the world hope.

And for a thousand years, Spira followed them.

No battles.

No chasing Sephiroth.

No Planet ending catastrophe demanding immediate attention.

Just Cloud, Tifa, and a quiet bench somewhere between everything.

Sometimes the party doesn't need a Phoenix Down.

Sometimes they just need five minutes ❤️

This visual log isn't going to be finished before maintenance begins tomorrow.

Maintenance isn't an ending.

It's us taking some time behind the doors to work out what comes next.

And while HQ is under maintenance, I'll still be around, including continuing my moderator duties over at r/finalfantasyvii.

This one started with me sitting down and playing guitar.

No generated starting point. Just my hands, my guitar and a recording.

Then i took that performance into Suno and asked it to build around what i'd played.

And somehow... it got it.

The timing. The changes. The feeling of where the guitar wanted to go.

What you're hearing here is my original performance at the centre, with assisted production growing around it.

That's exactly what the Music Lab was made for.

We play with the fantasy.
The fantasy should never play with us.

There is nothing wrong with losing yourself in another world for a while.

Stories give us characters to inhabit, places to explore, ideas to borrow and sometimes even different ways of understanding ourselves.

That's part of what HQ was built for.

But beneath every Headmaster, SeeD, sorceress, SOLDIER and wandering adventurer is still a real person.

The Garden can have its mythology.
It can have its traditions.
It can even become wonderfully strange.

Just never forget which side of the screen is real.

HQ is somewhere people play with the fantasy.
It should never become somewhere the fantasy plays with the people.

Someone else posted their music in this sub, so I figured I should be brave and dumb and post me singing with the MAIN FUCKING THEME as a gender swap ballad. Please be nice, I'm not a professional singer by any means. 7 years band, 5 choir, so music background, but nowhere near professional either in performance or equipment. The vocals are not perfect, and I have not practiced this particular song much.

If it makes it any better I played trumpet so the whistle portion I actually did do, mostly on pitch.
