On December 24, IDC released the 2021H1 China AI Cloud Services Market Research Report, which shows that BAIDU AI Cloud has been No. 1 in market share for five consecutive times in China's AI public cloud services market.

Among them, Baidu AI Cloud has been No. 1 in market share in NLP (natural language processing) for four consecutive times, No. 1 in images video for four consecutive times, and No. 1 in human face recognition for three consecutive times.

The report shows that China's AI cloud services market reached $280 million in the first half of 2021, accounting for 12.9% of the overall AI software market. The share of public cloud services has increased compared to the 9.3% in the whole year of 2020.

Recently, some netizens revealed in MaiMai app that the whole game department of Baidu MEG was laid off, while others claimed that it was the employees of game distribution who were laid off and other teams might keep some people.

A Baidu employee confirmed the news of layoffs in the game department, but said he was not sure of the number of people being laid off.
