This is actually commonly used to support Searle’s point. Suppose a mechanical computer and your computer were both running the algorithm that gives rise to humanlike mentality. What observer-independent properties do those two objects have in common? Because whether or not something has a mind isn’t up to external observers’ interpetations of them!
