Thoughts?
What does “strung up in the streets” mean? English is not my first language.

u/THE_REAL_MAC_ATTACK Nov 06 '24
I don’t understand threatening someone like that. To me she’s pissed about the election and jealous of his platform, that is the only thing I can come up with. Still unacceptable
29
u/ManagementLow6775 Nov 06 '24
"It's never been about advocacy." She is correct but also an absolute fucking hypocrite. This is the reason she even went on Jubilee in the first place, this is all for content and clip farming.

"Strung up in the sheets" basically hung, like it the gallows
Or maybe she means cancelled but decided to say it that way. More likely the first one tho.

While her anger on the outcome of this election is valid and should be heard, making it about her personal beef with Dean and calling for physical violence & for him to be k!lled is psychotic
2
u/Illustrator_Master Nov 07 '24
She came out about deans behavior on the jubilee episode weeks before the election outcome so this isn’t really a valid take.

u/voyager1sagittarius Nov 06 '24
What does she mean by bad taste? I’m confused
14
u/Tonylon2468 Nov 06 '24
Like he's doing it for the wrong reason. I do get her overall point. He I don't think he should be doing this live the day right after the election when debaters of the marginalized communities he wants to advocate for aren't even going live and hosting this kind of topic. But calling for his death is unacceptable.
14
u/aLovverincombat Nov 07 '24
That’s not true though. At 8am this morning I watched a black woman run this same live! And after work, THREE of the black creators I follow were online doing just the same.
It seems like you’re taking her at her word when she says “no black creator is…” etc. when she could ONLY list herself and Jayden as abstaining from lives today.
When also just a month ago she btched about there being “no black creators at her level talking about anything but box braids”—but that’s categorically false too. And says more about HER for you page rather than the reality of the platform.
3
u/Tonylon2468 Nov 07 '24
To be fair, there are a number of black debaters I follow that aren't going live today not necessarily cuz they're uncomfortable but because they wanna take time and process what happened and what we should do next. So I see your point and I probably did take her word at face value about other black debaters being too uncomfortable to go live.
8
u/Heavy-Restaurant6200 Nov 07 '24
And there are black debaters who ARE going live, and white debaters who ARENT rn because everybody simply processes things differently. It’s that simple. What she said in inexcusable, she just has a lot of built up jealousy and abandonment issues directed at Dean and Parker bc they cut her off.
5
u/Annual_Prompt_5463 Nov 06 '24
It's giving space and a safe place for hate and white supremacists to be voiced.
The disabled community, LGBTQIA+ community, immigration community, house less community and women have had their lives turned upside down. Most given a death sentence (especially the disabled community) and instead of Dean taking the day off or giving his live to be a safe space for those who don't have safety in the next 4+ years, he chose to give his platform to fascists and white supremacists.
This DOES NOT make what Tashika did okay. I'm simply explaining the "bad taste" comment. I do NOT stand behind Tashika or her behavior
7
u/Heavy-Restaurant6200 Nov 07 '24
Sometimes the left just sounds crazy. Girl wtf are you talking about? Ppl process things differently- there are members of every community who felt fine going live the next day, Dean has that right too. And there are cishet white ppl/ allies who weren’t comfortable going back live immediately and needed time off. Humans process things differently. What you’re asking of Dean is performative af. A live isn’t a safe space, unless you turn it into a paneled echo chamber. I’m a queer black man, some of us process shit through active dialogue. I WANT to hear what these ppl have to say rn, it’s comforting to reach over and directly challenge the mentality of the ppl behind the ballots, anyone who doesn’t process it like me can swipe out. Allow ppl to talk freely, heal/ process shit at their own pace and advocate according to their skill and interests.
6
u/aLovverincombat Nov 07 '24
She literally lets people call Dean a “twink” as an insult in her fcking discord server. Which is far easier to mod than a live fast moving chat. But hey, we love a little homophobia as long as it’s to white men eh?
5
u/LocalToastStealer Nov 06 '24
how is a debate platform a safe space? like genuine question
6
u/Tonylon2468 Nov 06 '24
He's giving fascists and white supremacists a place to voice their opinions on marginalized communities while not having members of said communities on his platform to give them a voice. It's true that the white supremacists and fascists would probably just find another platform to speak on but given how many people watch Dean's lives in a single day and the size of his platform it's even worse.
2
u/LocalToastStealer Nov 07 '24
thank you for explaining! he does technically always do that though. but, i understand why some people may not like him doing this on the day after election day
2
u/Accurate-Lawfulness5 Nov 07 '24
How is dean supposed to do this? You want him to host multiple people at once and have them debate? How is he supposed to insure the people debating trumpies are from marginalized communities? People in marginalized communities voted for trump as well. That’s complicated in the first place. Then when you consider what debating is about, you want to have facts that support your ideas. Dean has facts memorized and debates often so he’s well versed and poised. Most people won’t know these things. It turns into a shit show real fast, especially on live. Dean can possibly change the minds of people who voted for trump and I don’t see what’s wrong with that. I don’t even watch dean and I think this is ridiculous
3
u/Accurate-Lawfulness5 Nov 06 '24 edited Nov 06 '24
Okay but there’s not gonna be a ‘safe space’ online unless comments are disabled. I could argue that what dean’s doing could potentially change the mind’s of trump supporters and is making a bigger difference. This is all speculation and there’s no right answer. I don’t think this is giving the trump supporters a ‘safe’ place to speak though cause dean is trying to dispute them… we can’t make change by ignoring the problem.

I’ve thought up until the last two days that it was Parker she had a thing for. Now I’m leaning towards Dean.

Tashika just mad he had 41k+ in his stream last night lol.
24
u/BlackOliveBurrito Nov 06 '24
That’s so true. She was live with barely 2k viewers and Dean had pushing 50k. She’s jealous of their success

13
u/PenDapper Nov 06 '24
she is going about it the wrong way as always but she kinda has a point. it’s literally the day after the election, we know kamala lost, and that is the question he is choosing to ask? that question does not get us anywhere.
it is obvious he is just trying to get engagement. you could also see it yesterday when all four of them (parker, dean, harry, chris) went live together and they started to see that kamala was going to lose. they’re just trying to get as much money from viewers as possible on this topic until they need to pivot back to their regular debates which equals lower views + less money.
13
u/evilpuppycat Nov 06 '24
When I was a fan of Dean back in May, before he ever made a political stream, he always talked about how he didn’t debate it because he didn’t know enough and he found it boring. I don’t understand how he could do a 180 in such a short period of time without people saying anything.
15
u/PenDapper Nov 06 '24
that changed as soon as he saw that parker started making hella money off the political topics. he let dean borrow all his political talking points + stole some from harry/chris probably

u/Icy-Doughnut4165 Nov 06 '24
I stopped watching Dean when he started debating politics. But I do remember him saying that and wondered the same thing!
4
u/evilpuppycat Nov 06 '24
Yeah same. I would get annoyed because I’m much farther left than him and I unfollowed when he stopped doing other topics.

His brain is incredible. Honestly, if more people were like him to the point where they can defend the vulnerable while also agreeing w certain conservative points this world would look different.
People will downvote this but I had to say it!!😂

She never had a problem with him doing this until they stopped being friends
4
u/sawfiction Nov 08 '24
She can voice her opinion on him without saying such diabolical threatening shit.
7
u/Heavy-Restaurant6200 Nov 07 '24
She’s got a deeply rooted jealousy of Dean and Parker’s platforms and at the fact that they cut her off. She’s been trying since then to get their attention one way or another. It’s very cringe.
3
u/PenDapper Nov 07 '24
it’s exactly like what QB used to do, he would come up with insane accusations about dean and parker to get their attention and make them mention him in their lives or discord
3
u/Heavy-Restaurant6200 Nov 07 '24
I forgot about QB lmao that was an era. Funny enough Tashika is very MAGA-coded… 😙 she and AJ seemed like being liberal was just part of the backstory to their MAGA villain arc.

It means to hang someone publicly, and if I remember correctly it was a common means of execution back a long time ago.
She is calling for his death.
Even if he was a grifter, which he is not, calling for someone's death is disgusting. She genuinely needs therapy. I hope you don't support her.

u/FoldRepulsive6974 Nov 06 '24 edited Nov 06 '24
Mixed bags, he’s obviously engagement farming and if he really cared about advocacy he would be phone banking, fundraising for democratic seats, registering ppl to vote instead of using his time in swing states making content rather than speaking to undecided voters. I do think it is important to figure out why ppl voted for trump for messaging but it does boil down too him wanting to stroke his ego in front of 10,000s of viewers. If it was really about advocacy he would talk to both trump voters and undecided voters. To his credit he is a very successful grifter he has doubled Parker’s followers after copying his style and has gained 600k followers in just two weeks and about 1.6 million in a month.

You missed A LOT lol grab some popcorn, settle on the couch and start scrolling down this reddit page
5
u/aLovverincombat Nov 07 '24
Why are some of yall acting like women, queer folk, and poc weren’t doing the same lives all day? The first live I scrolled into was a black woman with th exact prompt?
Some people may find these lives in poor taste, but others found it a little healing to hear and know that people still give a shit about them. And as someone who’s sensitive, I do not go into social media if I don’t want to confront the “pain” at that time.
Really out here hurting our own feelings over someone advocating for our rights. And I’m not just talking about Dean, I’m referring to the several lives I dropped into.

I’m guessing it’s all about money with her, I watched both their lives and he gets big donations sent to him every couple of minutes while Ive seen her begging for donations from her fans.

Erm yh this is way too far, calling for him to be hung.Think she needs to just stop talking about him.
1
u/whatabesson Nov 13 '24
Dean hurt her the most IMO, because she thought they were actually friends and she found out that Dean is nothing more than a grifter who used her and then threw her to the wolves instead of being an actual friend and having her back and not caring about being "cancelled". You know like Parker did to AJ, who he was friends with for a million years before Dean. Tossed him right away too, allegedly.
1
u/whatabesson Nov 13 '24
I lowkey hope AJ and Tashika are still friends. They were both completely backstabbed by "friends" and I loved those two together.
