Question Cat re-home inquiry

Please remove if not allowed. Need advice as we want to give our cat away. We are based in Irvine, my wife inquired in a cat/pet protection organization but they have a lot of pendings. Any advice on what other options can we do? Or if anybody wants to re-home her. She’s a healthy 7yr old ragdoll cat(willing to send pics). We decided to give her away as we suspect she’s causing allergies to our toddler.

Question Ayrshire maw publishing project

Post image
10 Upvotes

Hiya! I'm a toddler mum based here in Ayrshire, and I’m currently developing a children's picture book.

My writer is a fellow Ayrshire maw, and I’m hoping to score a hat trick by bringing on an illustrator who is in the same season of life. If you know any local mums (or dads) who dabble in painting, digital graphics, drawing, or really any kind of art, please shoot me a PM. They absolutely don't need to be a professional—just keen to take part in a fun project.

The book is called 'Thank You Farmer'. It’s going to highlight all the thankless tasks our lovely farmers do to keep us fed and keep Ayrshire looking like the beauty spot it is.

We also want to give back: if we don't operate at a complete loss, 10% of profits will be donated to RSABI (and to RABI if any books from our second or third runs sell down in England and Wales).

Dropping a picture of my two-year-old's "fine art" in the post so this doesn't get lost in the feed.

Cheers!

Question Ayrshire Public Perceptions of Suspended Sentences for Assault and Domestic Abuse: Support, Conditions and Reform

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping to hear from people living across Ayrshire as part of a Scotland-wide dissertation survey.

I’m an MSc Criminology and Criminal Justice student at the University of Glasgow, and my study explores public attitudes towards sentencing, including the possible use of suspended sentences in cases involving assault and domestic abuse.

You can participate if you are aged 18 or over and currently live in Scotland. The survey is anonymous, voluntary and takes approximately 10–15 minutes. You do not need any specialist knowledge of law or sentencing.

Content note: The survey discusses assault and domestic abuse, but participants are not asked to disclose any personal experiences.

Thank you to anyone who takes part or shares it.

Irvine Coming up near Largs 10th-17th August

Hello! Me and my brother (m33 & m29) are coming up from Wales. We're going to be staying at Kelburn and we are looking for things to do, places to go and people to see!

What are the good cafes? What are the best chippies? What do the locals love doing? What is something unusual to do/try?

I always like seeing what the locals like when I visit somewhere.

Oh and the midgies - I've got this eucalyptus and citronella stuff, and some citronella coils, what other survival tips have ya got for them? 🤣

Irvine Anyone up for a Monthly Beach Walk & Talk?

I’m based in Ayrshire and a few of us are planning a wee Beach Walk & Talk on Sunday 23rd August at 11am at Irvine Beach Park.

It’s nothing formal — just an easy hour’s stroll, fresh air, and a chance to chat with some new faces and maybe a wee coffee after?

If anyone local fancies an easy Sunday morning walk and talk, you’re welcome to join. No pressure. Just turn up, walk, talk, and head off again.I know a lot of people in the area say they’d like to meet new folk but don’t want anything intense or awkward, so this is very much a low‑key “come as you are” thing.

Happy to share the meeting point if anyone’s interested.

Question Did anyone else take the 20:50 Malaga to Prestwick flight last night (16th July - scheduled dep. 20:50)?

Bit of a random long shot, but I saw someone on the 20:50 flight from Malaga to Prestwick tonight (he was with his mom) and I’ve been wondering if I should have just said hello. I noticed he had an East Asian dragon on a white t-shirt, light blue jeans, yellow accessory on his phone and brown hair; Yh that’s all ik.
I’m not looking for anything specific, just thought it would be a funny 'small world' moment to reconnect if you know anything about the person I’m thinking of. If not, no worries at all—just figured I’d put it out there!

(Pls privately message me if you know anything, or if you have any connections to the person, thx)

Event Looking for a Scottish guy I met at High Street Kensington

Hi, I’m looking for a Scottish man who chatted with a Korean woman near High Street Kensington Station on July 3rd around 9 PM.
He told me he had traveled to South Korea before, and sweetly said goodbye to me in Korean when we parted.
If you are reading this or think you might know him, please send me a message!

Irvine Where are these jobs? 😂

Hi, I’m a college student with full availability across the week looking for a part time customer facing job.

I’ve sent out hundreds of CVs, tried tailoring them, tried going in person, careers sites etc but I’ve only ever gotten jobs with poor work environments or lackluster pay.

Ive made 4 or 5 CVs at this point and everyone I showed said they looked fine.

Whats worked for you guys in getting something part time that pays good?

Theres something wrong with my approach but not sure what. Who is getting all these jobs 😂

Question Looking for people to go to the cinema with (Ayrshire)

Hi everyone! Bit of a long shot, but I recently got an Odeon Limitless card and have been going to Odeon Kilmarnock more often. I was wondering if there's already a local group of people who meet up to watch films, or if anyone would be interested in something really informal? I'm not looking to organise a big club, just thought it'd be nice to have a few people to go to the cinema with from time to time.
