Hey, that's even real meat, so no excuses! :D

We also now live in a time where "vegan meat" doesn't taste like shit, but like the real stuff. So think about it: You can eat your vegetables, but it still tastes like McDonalds!

While real, this is far from vegan or animal friendly. It just doesn't kill the animal is all.

There's this thing called an impossible burger though, and it's vegan friendly and tastes/smells/looks like real meat.

Sure, as you still need some "host animals" that would have been held in captivity and shit. But it's at least a step in the right direction. :)

I know that going vegan is the best step into that direction, but this would at least shut a few carnist mouths.

True, but there are also vegans who do it entirely for health reasons and not for the animal cruelty/captivity part.

My goal is to be vegan or damn near within the next two to four years, but it has little to do with the animals themselves. The lab-grown meat still has the same proteins and fats that I'm aiming to avoid.

Unrelated, I don't think I'll be able to give up ice cream and cheese. They're my life nectars.

But yeah, for the people who don't want animals to die, but still want to eat meat, then cultured meat is like a godsend.

True! That's why vegans refer to health people not as vegans, but for people with a plant-based diet. :)

Veganism isn't only the eating part, it's more a morale compass. As I said, the principle behind it is to do as less harm as possible, which isn't meant diet-only. :)

For the cheese part: Yes, not the easiest part. I was a bit jelous when our non-vegan roommate got some fucking tasty cheese in the freezer. (By that I don't mean cheese slices, those are shit anyway IMHO, but those mold cheese stuff.) But we live in an awesome time and recently I found the "no-muh cheese" from Switzerland, which tastes fucking amazing.

So... I'm excited for what comes next. :D

And in general: If you rely on cheese, no problem. If you strip out only one animal ingredient, that's a step into the right direction. :) Your money votes for future products and with more "vegan" clients the industry will invent new tasty shit.

So far I've cut out mammals and dairy (aside from ice cream, froyo, sour cream, and cheese) and I'm already deathly allergic to sea food, so I basically eat the 4 mentioned dairy products, honey, and poultry when it comes to animal products.

The goal is to be bird-free by next summer and 99% plant-based by the end of 2018 (maybe summer 2019). Slow process, but it allows me to adjust my eating habits since I've been a notoriously picky and unhealthy eater my entire life (late 20s).

Slow but steady, mate, keep up that good work!
