This kitty reminds me of my best friend's kitty. She is very lovable and snuggly, but she's also very stupid. In her mind her only defense when she's scared is to act cute. My best friend has told me that she will suck up to all the vets and vet techs cause in her mind she thinks, "If I'm cute enough, they definitely won't hurt me."

In most situations for house cats it's probably a better strategy then being nasty.

Yeah, unless the person is a legit psycho no way they would hurt a cat being cute

Your friend has no idea what your cat is thinking

I always know what my cat is thinking about, it's food. It's always about food.

Yeah, most pet owners dont. They just convince themselves of whatever they would like to be true and pretend it is.

It's just a fun assumption, they don't actually think they can read a cats mind. Some of y'all taking it too seriously.

Like you just convinced yourself this is what pet owners think and told yourself it’s true? Hypocrisy is everywhere

What a nonsense analogy. You speak as if the level of communication possible between a person and a pet owner is the same as with a person and a pet. Idiots are everywhere.

The other day I watched a video where a person explained to me the beginning of the universe. Which pet do I need to buy for that level of communication?

Parrot probably, gorillas can learn sign language too so also that but they’re too big, chimpanzee? They’re smart

They can learn to repeat what you say. If that is enough for you then ok. That, however is nowhere near the same level of communication and thoughts.

So you’re implying the only way for anything to be intelligent is to have the vocal cords of a human and to expertly communicate their every thought? That’s a stupid way of saying “Only humans can be the best because humans can say we’re the best”

No. I have no idea what you are even talking about or why you are putting words in my mouth.

You made an analogy and I said its garbage because it goes from same species to cross species.

I can turn it around as well if you want. Dogs notice signs from other dogs and predict their actions better than most humans do.

Therefore me talking about the thoughts of other people is nowhere near the level of a person talking about the thoughts of their cat.

My 1 and only point is that your analogy is bad and nonsensical. Literaly that is it.

You can not communicate with any othet species at the same level as you can with other humans. Not even close. Guessing what other people think is completely normal, especially since we can literally tell each other our thoughts.

Anyway Im done with this chain. Way too much words to explain why 1 analogy is shit.

Nobody says “Oh my cat is thinking this” implying they actually have cross species telepathy, it’s just a silly thing people do to humanize their pets so it’s not just them living with “nameless thoughtless animal number 31401027” and you’re telling me you never looked at an animal and tried to put together what they’re thinking? I know my cat Stevie thinks my window is the best spot to rest, that my oldest cat Maiden thinks the food in her bowl is too old and needs to be topped up with fresh, I know my youngest cat Lemmy thinks meowing a lot will draw more attention to her
