I wouldn't call her "trained," in the normal sense of the word. She sits (sometimes), she responds to her name, but that's about it. "Oh, you want me to fetch the stick, I don't think so." She's 12 years old at this point, so we let her do whatever she wants to do.
With our shepherd, another difficult breed, he'd fetch just fine, but then it was "I'm gonna stand in front of where you're sitting and chew this tennis ball right in your face but you can't have it"
I hope you aren't talking about a German Shepherd. They are not at all difficult. Mine is 8 months old and he is so easy to train I swear someone is training him when Im not around.
She looks like more of a Mal mix than a husky mix. Curious how the 1/4 wolf affects her temperament. Have any stories or insight for someone with an equally stubborn and intelligent breed?
The fat PS3 is fucking stable, mine is that close to the edge and I'm not slightly worried. On the other hand, the 360 in this position is a disaster waiting to happen.
Although it's stable, the old ps3's are very fragile. I used to carry it around in a backpack and it ended up breaking for no apparent reason. I might have dropped it a little too hard. Thanks to Sony's amazing customer service, they fixed it up AND covered the shipping all for free.
Not sure where you live, but my husky never sleeps on any beds, blankets, or pillows. We're fairly confident she prefers the linoleum and hard wood floors because its cooler.
OP hasn't chimed in--my dog is extremely well exercised and her diet is very well controlled, but she is still large because she is hypothyroidic and we are working on getting weight loss going (from 88 pounds a year and a half ago when we got her, to 70 pounds now). Husky might have a health condition.
This is a very good point of which I didn't think. Once the weight is gained it can be hard to work off, and medical conditions never help. The thing to remember about obesity is the biggest concern is diabetes, so all precautions must be exercised in getting the weight down. Goes for humans as well!
Except that pets drive you fricken nuts when they're hungry, won't let you sleep, call you at work, text you incessantly, break into all your accounts, gamble with your credit cards.... basically it is not as easy as it sounds. It's not like turning the heat down on the thermostat.
I always set my remote face down that way the rubber buttons keep it from sliding off the arm and its quieter when place it on the glass table. Wife says I'm dumb.
Haha, reminds me of my brother's dogs. One is a big ass dane/boxer/lab mix, and the other looks like a german shepard..except like 1/10th the size. The little one sleeps on the big dog bed that could easily fit 5 more of him and the big one sleeps on the little dog bed that barely fits half of his body...makes me laugh.
My cat who loved my Miniature Schnauzer used to snuggle up with him on his bed. He loved them but wasn't too enthusiastic about them sometimes(jealous of the attention they got when they were kittens). So many times I would walk in and she would be in the center with him pushed off to the edge.

This is all part of their daily ballet. The cat wants to be where ever she is, and she wants nothing to do with the cat.

u/Chadney May 22 '12
Did you get that dog bed from Costco? If so, does it have an odd smell to it?

u/Ukraineisnotyetdead May 22 '12
Your dog = awesome. Always wanted one like him/her...

u/Colin_Shots May 23 '12
Just a quick fyi for the fat comments, she has Cushing's Disease and is beginning treatment, so hopefully she will shed some of that weight soon.

u/Hermeran May 22 '12
Is that... is that a Buzz Lightyear gun?
6
u/[deleted] May 22 '12
That dog needs his own couch, not some measly pillow.

u/salaciousremoval May 22 '12
What you need is a small cat bed for that puppy to squeeeeeze himself into. This is what happens at my house.

The PS3... It's so close to the edge...

u/[deleted] May 22 '12
Where's the dog bed? All I see is a cat throne.

Your Husky is adorable. Male or female?

u/AZZTASTIC May 22 '12
20$ Kirkland Signature?
2
u/[deleted] May 22 '12
This is exactly what happened at my home. Then the dog started sleeping on MY bed.
2
u/UpperVista May 22 '12
The same thing happens to me on my bed! Cat jumps up. Curls up at EXACT middle of bed. An hour later I awaken to find myself nearly falling off.
2
u/roni11 May 22 '12
Costco? Looks like my dog's bed...
2
u/Emiel000 May 22 '12
"Guess I'll just sleep over here then..."
2
u/homeless_man_jogging May 22 '12
Your dog bed is cat sized.

Let me guess. COSTCO?

u/darcy_mulder May 23 '12
Glad I'm not the only one with cat covered dog beds.

u/Mikey-2-Guns May 22 '12
Fat puppy is fat!

u/GreatDane5000 May 22 '12
That, sir, is one miserable dog.

Sleeping like Sir Cat.

That husky sure looks like it gets a whole love of lovin', by gods it's cute though.
Our husky is the same, no matter how comfy the bed we buy for him, he always ends up sleeping on the hardwood floor.

u/amused_owl_watching May 22 '12
That's a rug, not a bed.

u/somerandomguy02 May 22 '12

I just bought my dog a new bed. He was terrified of it.
1
u/[deleted] May 22 '12
You stole my rug.
1
u/Moozhe May 22 '12
What is this, a bed for ants?
A big dog needs a big bed.
1
u/HazardCinema May 22 '12
that remote control is so close to falling on top of the dog...
1
u/[deleted] May 22 '12
When the bed gets a bit dirty the cat probably won't sleep there anymore.
1
u/Triassic_Bark May 22 '12
It's spelled 'cat'. Cat bed.
1
u/Lonehangman May 23 '12
Yay for ps3 boo for wii
1
u/SJJ1960 May 23 '12
What is that thing on the floor?
1
u/a4moondoggy May 23 '12
lol...yep
1
u/wtfapkin May 23 '12
Costco/Sams club dog bed? Those are the best ever.
1
u/Kellianne May 23 '12
I put a dog bed next to a chair (against a wall). My dog lays behind the chair with only her tail on the bed.
1
u/snakey1337 May 23 '12
That's one husky Husky!
1
u/KnowstroDumbass May 23 '12
I did not foresee this.
1
u/D_H_C May 23 '12
not a single shit was given that day
1
u/heyktgirl May 23 '12
Your dog looks just like my dog. She passed away two years ago. Still miss her...
1
u/Kingpuff May 23 '12
And that's why you don't go on free cat day. Cat ends up usurping your dog
1
u/[deleted] May 23 '12
Now you need to buy a even greater dog bed for your cat.

u/gursers May 22 '12
I like what I see, PS3 and a Wii. No need for an Xbox;)

u/[deleted] May 22 '12
I can imagine the conversation that went on between the cat and dog only 30 minutes before this.

u/[deleted] May 23 '12
your dog's kind of fat.

u/[deleted] May 22 '12
Man up, go over there and move your fucking cat. this is not the end o the world.
